Indian Tourism is certainly INCREDIBLE.

The Directorate General of Tourism, Government of India, would soon be a non-entity because:
1. Three years back the post of Director General was abolished
2. Recently all powers / Portfolios of the Additional Director General have been taken away and given to the Joint Secretary
3. DOPT has approved a proposal that there should be 50 per cent Deputation Quota for Deputy Director Generals posts.
4. A note has been sent to the Cabinet that 50 per cent Overseas Posts in Tourist Offices should be manned by IAS officers from States.
When the world is moving towards privatisation and all countries have Tourism Boards manned by the private sector and professionals, the UPA Government feels that a District Magistrate or a Commissioner in a State can perform the job better. The General Secretary of the Officers Association of the Directorate General of Tourism, who raised his voice, has been transfered to Patna. Really,India Tourism is certainly INCREDIBLE.

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Mooche (Moustache) ho toh Nathu Lal Jaisi'… aur gussa ho Somnath Da jaisa,
Aap ne pehle dekha nahi hogaa gussa aisaa!!

But whether Somnath Da spoke as a Member or now as a Speaker gussa is the same,
Only two ways by which Somnath Da ka gussa ho sakta hai tame.

The way is to start talking about football… and see Somnath Da's gussa disappear,
And the other way is to start talking about the works of Shakespeare.

Somnath Da said that now he cannot trust MPs from both sides of the aisle,
Because their own pledge they choose to defile.

Pledge was that Nut would resign and House would be allowed to function,
Somnath Da was livid as House was again put to dysfunction.

In disgust he said that he was ashamed ke such a House he is presiding,
But was bound by his Oath and so he was abiding!!!

But Somnath Da who is responsible for this fracas???
NDA asked for Nut's resignation and Congress said this was bakwaas!!!

Fact is Nut is to blame and Congress is guilty of aiding , abetting and tottering,
Rather than being decisive Congress was seen pottering.

Parwaana Nut says he's ready to sacrifice himself but there should be some baat,
Congress nahi Desh ka parwaana bann and realize with Desh your vishwaasghaat!!

Now US Senate Probe too says that Nut took Oil Vouchers…resignation ki hurry,
Sonia ordered him to resign pronto as US Senate revelation was the worry!!

Matherani says that he warned Congress about Jagat and Andy way back in do hazaar ek,
Says Congress showed indignation and his allegations bin mein diye fekk!!!

Seems very soon Nut's presence in Congress may be untenable… will be told to go,
Nut is going to hit a new low!!!

When Country was going through Oil shock Nut could have reduced the shock,
Donated the vouchers at cost and stood by Country like a rock!!

Parwaana nahi chamcha hai yeh….. and pretty bent spoon,
Spoon's son is even more bent ...no wonder he was chucked out of Doon!!!

Renuka Chowdhury made a last minute charge,
She's Congress's 'battle tank' at large!!!

Congress's 'battle tank' tried to boom but seemed the tank back-fired and scooted,
Basically tried to redeem some brownie points because she knows she could be booted!

Booted from the Cabinet….. was trying to sell guns,
She forgot that Tourism Department she runs!!!

Amrinder says that he is going to Dubai to check out construction activity there,
Also will be looking for his horse 'Son of a gun' ke liye mare!!!

He's also looking for a camel…. emulating Laloo's animal farm,
Feels this farm will be his insurance from post electoral loss harm!!!

Because once he looses election he too will like Laloo demand suitable banglaa,
Where he can house his barn and stable and which should have apt security ka janglaa!

So bon voyage Raja ….. dosvi`daniya which is Russian for adieu or farewell,
Udachi i khoroshego nastroeniya…. Russian for good luck and keep well!!!

By the way who is Amrinder going to nominate to mind shop when he is gone,
By the looks of it no one!!!

Amrinder is missing bro in law as MEA….. wanted to get visas for Pakistanis for the Trade Fair,
All that he got from MEA was a 'don't impinge on our work' stare!!!

Post this session Cabinet Reshuffle is to take place,
Many are now there in Cabinet berth ki race!!!

Seems PC may become the Home Minister and could the next FM be an Economist??
There is one such Economist who is pessimistically an optimist!!!

And MOPNG Officials can breathe a sigh of relief,
Aiyer is being relieved of this Portfolio is the belief!!!

'Gunman' Shivraj could be the next MEA ….. but Pranab Da also has his eyes for this job,
And remember like Pranab Da nobody can sob!!!

Renuka has just applied 'quick fix' to her chair…… says now Mantri chair is inseparable,
And for added security chained the chair to Mantri waala table!!

Sayeed too will be retired on medical leave,
Power Ministry is too heavy for him to heave!!!

Hulka Fulka

Garam Dharam is 70 today,
Looks just like he looked in his heyday!!!

Dharam ki youngness ka raaz hai one bottle everyday and two marriages,
Kept fit running between two carriages!!!

Amir Khan is getting married to his lady love,
Says that his new love is a blessing from above.

So what about the old one???
With whom he has a daughter and son!!!

In his quest for finding conjugal bliss he's paying the lagaan,
Separated from his kids …. harr baap ke liye kids are his jahaan!!!

Tomorrow is Sonia's birthday….. happy birthday to you,
And best of luck managing the Congress zoo !!!

Hope you have a wonderful birthday with your near and dear,
And an on the back foot and gloomy Congress has something to cheer!!!

Bharat Kumar

WHISPERS .... CORPORATE WORLD

NHPC project shifts to 2006 ?

The 390 MW Dul Hasti Hydroelectric Power Project of NHPC which has been languishing for years has further slipped to 2006. PM Sayeed, Union Power Minister who recently reviewed the progress of construction of this project of National Importance was sad to know that lot of work in the headrace tunnel was still pending. The Minister has given directive to the NHPC to commission this project under all circumstances by March, 2006. This target however is not likely to be achieved considering the work still pending.
Originally planned to be completed by 1994 by a French Consortium, the project is already 11 years behind schedule. In 1997, an Indian civil contractor was awarded the remaining works with the target of completing the project by March, 2001. The schedule was revised by NHPC to December 2003. The contractor however failed again. Work is still going on. From the original cost of Rs.1260 Crores, the cost of the project has already shot up to over Rs. 4,400 crores and is likely to go up to more than Rs. 5,000 crores.
When completed, Dul Hasti will be the costliest hydroelectric project in the world with over Rs. 11 crores per MW. The power from this project will cost the beneficiary States more than Rs. 6 per unit as against 89 paise originally planned.
The Union Power Minister has directed SK Dudeja, Executive Director of Narmada Power Corporation, to look after the construction of this project and should spend at least 15 days in a month at the project site. However, things are not likely to improve since Dudeja is a mechanical engineer and what is required is an experienced civil engineer.
