If Power Ministry sources are to be believed Secretary Power in the Government of India, R V Shahi, has ultimately been granted extension for two years.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi is believed to expressed displeasure over the extension to Power Secretary R V Shahi.She reportedly conveyed her feeling at a meeting this morning.

Now extension to Dr Mashelkar ?

Now there is one more equally important extension under consideration to Dr R A Mashelkar, Director General CSIR. He is sure to get an extension because he is a technocrat and not an IAS.

IAS influence on the wane !

Is the IAS influence under the Man Mohan Singh Government really on the wane. Extension to R V Shahi and D Swaroop - both technocrats, atleast, points towards the fact. It is noteworthy that these extensions have come in despite PM Man Mohan Singh's announcement denying extension of service to any official in the Government of India. Add to it, extension to Dr R A Mashelkar is also on the cards.
