Altogether 28 IAS officers belonging to 1971 batch are reported to have been empanelled to the rank of Secretary in the Government of India. They reportedly include Mssrs Harish Chandra Gupta,Satwant Reddy,Gauri Chatterjee,Rabi Narayan Das,S K Arora,Dr Renuka Vishvanathan,Madhukar Gupta, M S Srinivasan,Ashok Kumar Mohapatra,M Damodaran,Dr J Sridhar Sarma, S Y Qureshi, Meena Gupta, A K Dua,Kanwar Pratap Singh, S Banerjee,D N Padhi, Sudhir Mankad, Devdas Chhotray,George T Joseph,Champak Chatterjee, V Subramaniam, D S Mathur, Ramesh Narayanswami, Baljit Singh Lalli, Amit Kiran Deb ,R L Tolia and G S Sahni.
