FORUM
Aaj Ki Aawaz

boarded the 7.52 fast train to Borivili and sat down at a window seat and opened my evening paper and took a sip of my Latte Coffee. The headlines screamed about 'The Missing Nawab' and I got down to reading the article before I commenced solving the Crossword.

I was in luck as three friends Amar, Akbar and Antony boarded the same compartment. I had traveled with the three quite a few times in the past and they were indeed very interesting company. They came and sat opposite me and we exchanged pleasantries and just as the Train pulled out of Churchgate Station we got down to our favorite pastime…… discussion!!!

Amar: Nawab on the run!!!!
Me: Seems so.
Akbar: And now they have found trophies at his home that are unaccountable!!!
Antony: Arre in all this there are so many lacunas that even a Lawyer with an L plate will get him free!!
Amar: Now his son says that his Abba was not even present in this hunt!!!
Akbar: Must be having an iron clad alibi!!!
Amar: Yeah like he was attending a meeting of the SPCA…. his son says that his Abba is 62 years and should be treated accordingly!!!
Akbar: Wah……..when it comes to facing the music he becomes a budha……why did he not think of his age when he committed the crime????
Me: While we are all treated as guilty till we prove ourselves innocent , Pataudi is being treated innocent till proven guilty. Pataudi's case reeks of double standards!!!!

The train pulled into Marine Lines and commuters jump aboard and the usual beggars and peddlers started their acts.

Antony: Sonia traveled to Moscow on a Reliance plane!!!
Akbar: Yaar all political parties use Corporate Jets.
Amar: I hear that Congress Party sent Inquiries for Charter Hire of a plane for Sonia's trip…….. Jet was rejected because of the cloud it is under, Sahara's bid was treated as an unsolicited offer, Spice and Kingfisher were rejected on account of experience……only Reliance's offer was found acceptable!!
Antony: Why did Air India not bid???
Amar: Air India comes under Praful Patel of NCP…..and you all know that nowadays Congress and NCP are at loggerheads and as this was a purely Congress Party affair so Praful had Air India make an offer that Congress Party would not accept!!!!
Antony: What was in the offer that was unacceptable???
Amar: In the crew list there were two suspicious looking names……S.Pawar and P. Patel……and then displaced Bar girls were to be the air hostesses under Patil's relocation plan!!!
Akbar: But why did Manmohan go to see her off???
Amar: He went there as a loyal Congress soldier……. like Musharaff is 3 in 1 ….General, CEO and President similarly Manmohan is 3 in 1……. PM, Obedient Congress soldier and Economist!!!
Akbar: That way Sonia too is 3 in 1……….. Congress President, Chairman NAC and Political PM!!!
Amar: Yaar stop this 3 in I stuff……reminds me of Cassatas and triple sundaes !!!!
Me: They say Congress has paid upfront Rs. 12 lakhs to Reliance for Charter Hire of this plane and so the matter ends there…..though some say that Reliance has framed this cheque for display as a first in History of the Company … as up to now it has always been the other way……..also they are taking this Lease as a publicity exercise 'Only Reliance'(only Vimal)…….about Manmohan going to see her off …….see whenever he goes abroad Sonia sees him off and Manmohan being the perfect gentleman just reciprocated……Manmohan is 4 in 1…….PM, Obedient Congress Soldier , Economist and gentleman!!!!!

A beggar was singing ' Pardesi Pardesi jaana nahi' …….. in fact I've learnt the words of this song hearing her sing it every day on the train. She's got such a horrendous voice that commuters pay her so that she goes away…an example of negative marketing!!!

Antony: Should the Hurriyat Leaders been allowed to visit Pakistan???
Me: Sure and then we should have asked the Pakis to keep them…..good riddance!!!
Akbar: If the Government had not allowed them they would have made a hue and cry that their rights were being trampled upon!!!
Amar: By the way should that Sheikh Rashid be allowed into Kashmir???
Me: I feel he should not be allowed into Kashmir……..now that his own Countrymen agree that he has a hand in promoting terrorism. And if there are no protests in Kashmir about his running terrorism camps when he visits Kashmir then he will say that he has the approval of the Kashmiri people!!!
Amar: I feel that on such occasions India must use its WMD…….Weapon of Mental Destruction ….. Laloo should be made the point man!!!!
Akbar: Joke time………Laloo went for dinner to Clinton's place. Mid way through the meal Laloo had the urge to pee and so he excused himself and went to pee. Later when they returned home Laloo told Rabdi that Clinton had a gold plated urinal. Rabdi did not believe Laloo and so after a heated discussion Rabdi spoke to Hillary on this matter. After putting down the phone Hillary called out to Bill and said, " Darling Laloo just invented a new use for the saxophone."

The train now stopped at Grant Road and in the melee a person trudged on another person's foot. The aggrieved person started to rant and rave and the 'stamper' following the policy that offense is the best defense started to shout too. Commuters stepped in and calmed both down and an elderly Parsi gentleman admonished both by saying, " Khaali phokat itna bomaa boom kai ko karne ka???"

Amar: Advani's Jinnah comments controversy just goes on and on!!
Antony: Yaar what made him make these comments????
Akbar: Well some say that all the hoopla and attention given to his trip in Pakistan made Advani suffer a kind of Stockholm syndrome!!!
Me: You guys forget that he was just a year back the DPM of India and so should be used to the attention and hoopla…….. I think Advani did exactly the same that Musharaff does to India…….that is when he is here he makes India centric statements!!!
Amar: And today in India Muslims look at Advani differently!!!
Akbar: See there is a very easy test to find out how sincere Advani was while making those statements in Pakistan…….. just see the footage and if Advani is rubbing his hands while making the statements…….. if he was rubbing his hands then he was being sincere……this is Advani's truth meter!!!

Train after Bombay Central becomes fast and skips all the stations and stops at Dadar. A vendor in selling peanuts came in shouting , " Time pass" (passs).

Me: Both President and PM have asked Governors to rise above Politics while Governing!!!
Akbar: Yes they are supposed to be father figures!!!
Antony: They'll swear to be Father figures…….. and become step fatherly figures???
Akbar: Yes Governors should not be 'Raazi' to obey their Party's diktats!!!
Amar: But then Party will show its naraazi and have them replaced!!!
Me: They should have a regulatory authority for Governors!!!
Akbar: Isn't this Governor thing outdated……makes you feel like the Raaj still exists…… and look at all the expense involved!!!!
Me: Replace Governors with what???
Akbar: Let the High Court Chief Justice do this job…….as it is nowadays whenever a Governor gives any Order it is challenged in Court….so why not let the Court give the decision???

The train pulled into Bandra and I wished my friends adieu and worked my way to the exit. I walked out to stand in a queue for an auto rickshaw. A person jumped the queue and people standing in the queue raised a hue and cry. A policeman questioned the line breaker, "Kaay jhaala (what happened)……. Line todha kyoo……Minister hai kya tum???" The offender quietly took out some money and put it in the cop's pocket. The cop summoned a rickshaw for this fellow saying , "Emergency hai ." Paisa feko tamasha dekho….. na zameer , na duty , na desh waasi badeh naa Bharat maiyaa….the whole thing is that sabh se badaa Rupiyaa!!!
