Clash between Assam and Nagaland police imminent !

Tension between Assam and Nagaland police is brewing after the recent establishment of new police posts in the disputed border areas. Assam is reportedly mobilising heavy deployment of armed battalions at the border with Nagaland and a war-like situation has developed between the two states. Assam seems keen to revenge the death of its policemen in the previous "war" with Nagaland police in 1980's when about 50 Assam police personnel were killed in the clashes. This time, however, unless urgent intervention of Central Govt is sought, heavy casualty may be expected if the clashes break out. Should two neighbouring states be allowed to behave like enemies at war?

Secretary Coal to stay

Contrary to the speculations about the secretary Coal P C Parakh's removal following confrontation with the outgoing Union Minister, Shibhu Soren, he is now likely to continue in the GoI.Soren, it may be recalled here, wanted Parakh's ouster because the later wanted the files to move through proper official channel while the Minister wanted them to be routed through one of his trusted OSD. Now since Soren himself is in trouble, Parikh's ouster is unlikely.

Sangma is PS to Jharkhand Chief Minister
