Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare in the Government of India, Ms Meenakshi Anand Chaudhry, is likely to be appointed Chief Secretary of Haryana. She is 1969 batch IAS officer. Present Chief Secretary, Sunil Ahuja, is retiring in June.

Favouritism charges on CBI baseless

Recent charges of favouritism on CBI have not been taken up in letter and spirit by anyone because it's present Director, U S Mishra, is known for his honesty and reluctance to bowing before the political pressure. How can CBI be charged with discrimination till it is under the Director who does not even listens to the Ministry of Personnel when it comes to going out of the way, people ask.

No clue to 1975 batch Addl Secr empanelment

While 92 officials of the 1975 batch were empanelled for the post of Joint secretaries - 60 from the original list and 32 after the review, there is no clue as to how many would be empanelled for the post of Additional secretary.

SC Collegium meet inconclusive !

Meeting of the Supreme Court Collegium which took place on Friday remained inconclusive. Now the meeting is expected to take place in the third week of June. Names of three Supreme Court Judges are to be cleared by the Collegium.

Is Reliance in serious trouble? Around 53 units in the country are facing severe financial crisis due to their huge inventory of finished material manufactured against Reliance Energy order. This material was manufactured in February and March and inspected by concerned quality department of Reliance but due to their internal problems they are reportedly not allowing to dispatch the material with the result that the units are becoming financially sick and defaulter of bankers and suppliers. With this state of affairs, market share of Reliance Energy may also fall down as they are losing public confidence directly or indirectly.
