Major IPS reshuffle in Maharashtra

In a major reshuffle 78 senior police officers have been transferred in Maharashtra. They include 25 officials of the IG level and 53 SP and Dy SP level. Among those transferred include Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ahmed Javed, who has been transferred as Inspector General (SRPF) and will be replaced by Arup Patnaik. Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) P K Jain will now be IG Nanded. S N Awate will be Joint Commissioner (Administration).Pradnya Sarvade has been promoted as DIG (ACB).Uddhav Kamble has been moved to Aurangabad as Commissioner of Police.Ashok Kamte has been shifted to Pune in Special Security unit.Archana Tyagi has been moved to Thane (Rural) as SP.Rashmi Shukla has been transferred from Prison. Ashok Dongre and Dilip Bhujbal, Deputy Commissioners of Police, who were suspended in the wake of the hooch tragedy and later reinstated, have been transferred to the Special Intelligence Department and the CID (Crime), Pune, respectively.
