Is the Ministry of Home Affairs aware that an honest and upright IAS officer has proceeded on leave in Nagaland because threat to his life ? Infact, there was no way out for 1988 batch officer Rajiv Bansal who had to take his family out of the state after applying for long leave. It is said that armed NSCN cadres entered his office room, recently closed the doors from inside and threatened him with a pistol on his temple and asked him to "cough up Rs 60 lacs or keep ready a coffin!". These situations aren't abnormal and happen to almost all officers who are "NOT LOCALS".

Dr Samanatray is first ADG of Medical Services

Dr RN Samanatray has been appointed first Additional Director General of Medical Services. The government of India has created this service incorporating the higher medical components of BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, CISF and Assam Rifles with creation of 35 DIGs, 11 IGs, and one ADG in medical cadre.

Grapevine has it that Deputy Director in the Enforcement Directorate, Mumbai, is being shifted by this month end. Finance Minister is reported to have approved the proposal of the shifting of the said official.

Station Director of the Jalandhar Kendra of the Doordarshan Sharyar has been shifted to the Mandi House. Goverdhan Sharma will replace Sharyar in Jalandhar.
