Both Nitish and Paswan have an allergy for Laloo… without him Congress is bearable,

'Make Laloo pay' sentiment will be arosen!!

Congress is bracing itself for detailed SC verdict on Buta…. on House's dissolution,

Perks war in Power Sector

A war for perks has broken out among the Directors of various Central Power Sector enterprises. The Secretary (Power), RV Shahi, has now set up a committee to look into the perks being enjoyed by functional directors of various Power Sector enterprises. Directors have been individually and collectively complaining to Shahi that while a less performing organization like NHPC have been giving lavish perks to its functional directors, other organizations in the sector are too stingy. They want that parity should be maintained among all the Schedule A enterprises in this regard. For example NHPC Directors have membership of posh clubs with liberal entertainment allowances, 24 hour security at their residence, an additional car in the name of their secretariat, provision to purchase the official car at depreciated rates on retirement, USD 600 per day allowance while on foreign tours, home furniture, air conditioners, computors, servant allowance, etc. These facilities are not available to the Directors in even cash rich enterprise like the NTPC. The situation in the case of REC is the worst. But interestingly, Shahi has asked SK Chaturvedi, Director (HR), NHPC, to prepare the report on the perks to the functional Directors. This has understandably dismayed the Directors of other enterprises. Since Directors are Presidential appointees, some of the perks currently being enjoyed by NHPC directors may have to go because of the intervention of the Ministry of Power which will go strictly by the norms of the Ministry of Public Enterprises.
