I am very surprised that your section has compleely missed the cause of ITS officers. These 2200 officers selected through "Engineering Services Examination" were working on deemed deputaion in BSNL for past 5
years and in MTNL for last 19 years. Suddenly the secreatry telecom woke up one day and issued orders
and gave an option either for opting to BSNL/MTNL or repatraition to DOT ( Deptt. of Telecom)The terms and conditions were degrading the status of entire cadre with the result hardly 10 officers opted for
BSNL/MTNL. Various officers numbering around 1200 approached various courts and obtained stay from the
judiciary. Remaining officers were repatriated to DOT without any posting orders with the result that entire
top management of BSNL/MTNL is wiped out. Entire communication is in danger of collapse and moreover
govt. companies are expected to suffer heavy loss. It is also rumored that few private operators afraid of
loosing their mobile share has adopted this startegy in collusion with few big personalities.
