CSS is the backbone

Dear Sir,

As an officer of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) recruited
through the Civil Services Examination , I am pained to see that your
esteemed website ' whispersinthecorridors.com , which is viewed by lakhs of
people all over the country , is not projecting the plight of CSS
officers working in the Central Secretariat . The CSS is considered to be
the backbone of the Central Secretariat . But unfortunately , it has not
been given the treatment it had deserved. Through your esteemed
electronic newspaper , I would like to draw the attention of the powers that
be towards the plight of the CSS officers who have been stagnating at
the level of Section Officer , Under Secretary , Director and Joint
Secretary . Nine Director level officers of the CSS have been waiting for
almost seven years to get the post of joint Secretary but are not getting
their dues . A large number of Directors have been waiting for five
years ever since their empanaelment as Joint Secretary , for actual p!
osting. Similarly , a large number of Joint Secretaries of CSS who have
been stagnating in that grade for 7 to 10 years , are being denied
promotion to the grade of Additional Secretary . Will someone look into
this stalemate ?

Despite decline in net NPAs from 130.45 crore last year to 123.03 crore this year, bank of Rajasthan has posted a 74 per cent fall in its net profit to Rs 5.24 crore for the quarter ended on September 30, 2005. The fall is attributed to treasury losses which amounted to Rs. 30 crore.
