Dear Dr. Manmohan Singh

I wish to write to you in support of the letter written by Mr. M N Buch regarding granting two year tenures to certain incumbents of the posts of Home and Defence Secretaries and the heads of Intelligence agencies.This step is retrograde and will cause avoiodable angst among the peer group of the favoured few.
Having served as Secretary to GOI successively in two Ministries, I do believe that, ideally, a Secretary in GOI should serve in the same slot for at least two years.This would be a salutary principle worth being applied to all posts of Secretaries and not only to Home and Defence.It would, inter alia, insulate these important functionaries from being transferred out of their jobs merely for proving to be inconvenient for their political masters.
Surely, however, this principle could be operationalized by better placement planning, and without having to resort to granting extensions beyond the age of superannuation.It is only necessary to ensure that the appointee, at the time of being placed in the post, has at least two years to serve before the date of his/her retirement ?
Having had the privilege of serving under you for a period of time with a directly reporting relationship, I am aware of how concerned you are about reforming administrative practices and procedures and improving the delivery systems.But providing fixed tenure for certain somewhat arbitrarily chosen posts, and then achieving the objective by granting extensions in service to the chosen incumbents, is not a step in the right direction.I hope the matter will will be revisited and the decision revised.

And Car Dealerships se goons ne forcefully cars ki drive!!!

Goons reached Car Dealerships and forcefully took away cars for the nuptials,
