Is the IAS really a premier Service ?

There has been a lot of praise for the IAS the last few days. All criticisms have been labeled as arising out of 'envy' from those 'non-IAS' who do not have the opportunity to be a part of them. As a non-IAS officer I do envy the IAS, not because I believe they are better, but by

1) The manner in which they have without any competition from the other civil services and experts, managed to occupy most posts even when being most ill-equipped to handle most of the tasks except for a majority having 'general administration' skills.
2) The manner in which IAS corner all the best accommodation for themselves in Delhi and state capitals even while non-IAS much senior to them have a long waiting list.
3) Envious of the IAS because even while PSUs such as Air India and the Indian Airlines run losses, IAS continue to head those organizations.
4) Envious of the IAS because even while heading organizations such as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi or the Delhi Development Authority which is primarily responsible for the all the illegal construction and gross mismanagement in Delhi, the IAS continues to head these organizations and similar organizations all over India.
5) Envious of the IAS because even while one of them being primarily responsible for the deaths of over 50 persons in the Meerut trade fair, IAS continue to lord over the mismanagement in our cities.
6) Envious of the IAS because being responsible for poverty alleviation and health in the Districts, India still has the largest number of poor in the whole world; even after that the IAS continue to be DMs and Collectors.
7) Envious of the IAS because our country has progressed only after we have dismantled the Licence Raj which the IAS was managing. Even then the IAS claims that the country is doing well because of them.
8) Envious of the IAS because even while the developed and developing world have given up the generalist based civil service, the IAS continue to lord over a system that is totally unsuited to India's growth.

I am not claiming that the 100 other odd non-IAS civil services are better, I am asking for a level playing field. Let IAS and non-IAS and experts compete over posts where substantial expertise among the non-IAS and those outside the government exists. Let us for example allow MBAs to run our cities for a change if they have a better vision for the future than some 'wet behnid the ears' IAS.

As we all know Muslims with Modi Sarkaar have a negative equation!!!

Be it Mr. Javed aka Mr. Shabhana or Amir…. they are averse to Modi and do not like Gujaratis because they've voted for Modi!!!! Amir talks of the effect of this dam….. charity begins at home….. he cared a damn for his marriage vows and ditched his wife and kids for another woman …. The effect this would have on the mother of his kids and his kids!!! Of course the Media is going gaga over Amir's support to NBA…… there is no doubt that Medha Patkar is an activist and she deserves commendation for the work she's done via NBA….. but vultures like Amir hover around and when they see an opportunity where they can get phookat ki publicity they swoop down!!! Did he sit on fast ….no!!! Has he been to the affected area….. no!!! Has he offered any help to the oustees from his resources…no!!! Amir is good at lecturing and that is what he's doing.... this is khaali peeli talk!!!

Why has Rajnath been given step motherly treatment ….. his vahaan is abs ramshackle???
People says it so ramshackle that the terrain and heat its finding difficult to tackle!!!

While Advani travels in the lap of luxury, Rajnath is in a vahaan that just keeps giving him trouble!! In fact he could walk faster than the vahaan ……. air conditioning just blasts hot air…… the upholstery is rexene!!!! But now its izzat ka maamla so Rajnath is going to complete this grueling Yatra in an incapable and inhospitable vaahan!!! They say Advani also has chosen the hospitable route….. and the route also passes through Cities!!! Seems BJP too has two Centres of power …. Advani is Sonia Gandhi and Rajnath Singh is Manmohan Singh!!!

Its done by many people….. when they sign a controversial letter they put a twist or spin in their signatures…… for obvious reasons!!!! And if the signatures are forged then there is a forgery case against Andaleeb and Jagat…… the link between Andaleeb and Jagat is irrefutable!!! This case is in a for a long haul……. and a good part of money that Nut made in the Oil for Food deal will be spent on 'legal help for freedom' !!!!

Amar Singh has been advised by his Astrologer to lie low and keep his mouth shut!!! Think the Astrologer reads the Newspapers and is a practical kind of guy!!!! There are rumors that now SP is making overtures to Congress….. also on the advice of Astrologers….. this time Mulayam's Astrologer!!!! Seems both Amar's and Mulayam's Astrologers are practical guys!!! Would be good if they followed their Astrologers advice to the T in future for a better future!!!

Govinda's presence in Jodhpur has not gown down well…. sends the wrong message!!! And the statements he made in Jodhpur show that there is a disconnect in his brain!!!! Maybe it's his underworld connection with Salman , they both call Dawood 'Bhai', that made Govinda rush to Jodhpur!!!! Would Congress be kind enough to clarify Govinda's presence…… Congress is going to say he was there in his private capacity…..but then why did he come out publicly in favour of Salman????
