Majority favours appointment of PCS officers as DMs

Bhopal: "Let the spoils of power be rip open for every citizen of this great democratic nation", says Sanjiv a respondent to the querry "Should PCS officers be appointed DMs?" put up on the News and Views section of the popular whispersinthecorridors.com.
Corroborating, S Vikrma another respondent - referring to Uttar Pradesh government's move to appoint PCS officials as DMs - says that other states should also follow. "In the days of the British Raj, an ICS man alone could become Collector because only a British could sustain and consolidate the Raj. And those brown-skinned Indians who managed to get into ICS were said to be more British than the Britishers as these natives were the products of the Macaulay system of education which had aimed at producing such Indians who could continue and strengthen the Raj", he says.
"It is unfortunate that the same edifice is continuing at the district level even after Independence, with the IAS replacing the ICS. This thoughtless status-quoism needs to be changed. Over the years the PCS personnel have proved their usefulness. But for their role, the government machinery at the grass-root level would have collapsed. It is a matter of discomfort that their role has never been judged on merit", he adds.
In all 70 per cent respondents to the above question favoured appointment of PCS as DMs if they are competent. Infact some of them said, "this issue has no meaning in the age of globalisation. There should be no IAS/IFS/PCS/PPS etc. Only professional competence should be the criteria for appointment to the important posts in bureaucracy".
But there were others, only 30 per cent, who said that PCS should not be appointed as DM. "PCS officers should not be appointed as DMs. They have narrow vision, less exposure to wide sections of administration, and by years of playing 'yesmen' they command lesser repsect of piers".
"Instead, officers from class I central services are much suited. If there is any derth of IAS or suitable IAS, officers drawn from Central services would be better replacements in view of the fact that they are selected from the same lot as the IAS and in terms of experience and exposure they are equal to any other IAS", said P K Mishra.

Nut has just won one election…..one swallow summer,
Nut saying that Manmohan has not won even one election and is the PM is a bummer (shame)!!

Nowadays Nut has breakfast with Digvijay…. then has lunch with Yashwant Sinha and has dinner with Amar!!! Talking about dinner with Amar …. seems that night when the Congress announced Nut's suspension Nut was at Amar's place for drinks and dinner. Seems Nut had too much wine and was pretty tipsy when the news came in… Amar the good host that he is ensured that Nut's glass was always full!!!! And when the news of his suspension came Nut's glass of 'woe' did overflow and add to that the glassfuls of wine that Nut had consumed …… made a very heady cocktail.....Nut just spat out venom!!!! And his camaraderie with Amar Singh proves the adage….. birds of a feather flock together!!!!

Nut says he taught Manmohan Diplomacy… what a joke???
Nut is no Diplomat….. on his kind of diplomacy there should be rokk (ban)!!

Nut has the misconception that he's the ultimate in Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy!!! He says that he'll not say a word against Sonia….. whereas he knows without Sonia's approval he could not have been suspended!! And he knows why Sonia is upset with him!!!!!! After all the bravado seems the reality is sinking in……. father and son are trying to show that they are Congressmen…. trying to wiggle back after being kicked out!!!! Politically father and son are finished…… at crossroads with all roads barricaded!!!

Somnath Da needs to sit down and think,
Why do majority say that his stint as Speaker sure does stink???

Somnath Da before he became Speaker suffered from ' I can never be wrong' sickness!!! After becoming Speaker this sickness just went from bad to worse!!! Communists as it is do not like anyone else talking….. and then add to that the infamous Bengali temper (Pranab Da is another example of this temper) and you can easily deduce why Somnath Da is so unpopular!!! Somnath Da needs to contemplate…..you can get angry and be rude with some people some time, you can get angry and be rude with some people all the time but you cannot get angry and be rude with all the people all the time!!!!

Pepsi says their products are safe…. Coke says drink up and don't worry,
To get us re-hooked onto their bottled 'slow poison' they seem to be in a real hurry!!!

Both Soft Drink giants are working round the clock to get off the hook!!! Even the American Government has taken note that their 'blue eyed' Companies have been given a black eye in India!!! Big B has a word of advice for Coke and Pepsi 'There's nothing quite as impressive and quite as important as being honest about the mistake that you've made. So, really the best thing is to use me to go in front of the people and tell them, 'Ok this is a problem, this is a mistake and we've rectified it'……. and he'll help them to bluff their way out….. this was the art that go him his Doctorate!!!

Surrogate ads should stop!!!
This backdoor way of advertising needs to get the chop!!!

Surrogate ads actually demean the concept of advertising!! 'Samajhdaar bewakoof ko ishaara kaafi hai'...... bewakoof because these people know the ill effects of the products being advertised via surrogate ads!!!! And then this also sends a wrong message…. that one can get around the system!!! Of course Madman Suheil Seth will have his lopsided take on this…….. he'll say it's a question of perception!!! Fact is that the Government needs to act as soon as possible because they should have never allowed this sort of advertising!!

Breaking News….. Nut has sought an appointment with the Manmohan Singh who he has called spineless and weak,
Just see the man's cheek!!!

Nut is now commencing Project Spit and Clean……. in Hindi they call this 'thook ke chaatna'!!!! He's going to tell the PM that what was shown by the Media was a 'cut and paste' job…. the voice were his but the words were not his!!!! But the question is will or should the PM give him an appointment in the first place???? And now that he's shown his colors and who his true friends are shouldn't the Congress be saying 'Good riddance to bad rubbish.'?????
