Housing issue

History suggests that in this country, to present the issue effectively, the approach of Gandhigiri has been effective. How about adopting this approach here to flag the issue and draw the attention of Department of Urban development through 'Gandhigiri ! I suggest that beginning next Monday let the officers send roses/ cards of 'Get well soon' to the 'Directorate of Estates' everyday. We could send the same in groups of 2/3 till the anomaly is removed. Any suggestion before this starts?

Why housing problem of senior officers is debated ?

I have been reading several views expressed by various persons on housing. It is a pity that housing problems of only Senior officers are debated in the column. One issue I would like to high light is the Lok Sabha Pool and Rajya Sabha Pool houses. If an official from either of the Secretariat (LS/RS) proceeds on deputation to Government of India under an eligible office or if an official from GOI eligible office goes on deputation to the personal establishment of the Speaker/Deputy Speaker or Chairman/Deputy Chairman, they are allowed to retain the government accommodation they occupy by placing one house equivalent to the category with the General Pool or RS/LS pool as the case may be. However, in case of officers posted in the Personal Establishment of the Chairmans of the Parliamentary Standing Committee, this facility is denied to officials who have to vacate the house which has been allotted to them, as neither the LS/RS place one house at the disposal of Directorate of Estates or the Directorate of Estates allow them retention. Thus the officers who are considered for posting in the Standing Committee are put in serious trouble. Will the Government also consider at least allowing regular government servants to retain their houses during their tenure with the Standing Committees.

Pl realize where the shoe pinches !
Yes, two institutions work on different hypothesis which creates hindrance in the development of the country. They must enter into others shoes (reciprocal as well) and realise where the shoe pinches. This will help to develop better understanding for each other. Country will be benefited finally.
