Selection of CSI in mess !

The selection for the post of Chief Statistician of India by the Search Committee headed by Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission is in mess. Despite open Press advertisement, not many applications have been received. The result is that many serving as well as retiring officers of the Indian Statistical Service are applying for the post. Everybody is guessing whether appointment of these bureaucrats would serve the purpose of the National Statistical Commission. Many IAS officers have also applied for the post as they do not want a Secretary level post to skip away from their stranglehold. Is the Prime Minister aware of these developments? Is Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia not in a position to infuse fresh blood who is not a bureaucrat like ISS and IAS but has a vision ?. If the National Statistical Commission is being created as a parking lot only for the retiring and retired officers of ISS and IAS by virtue of a favouratism and nepotism, then where is the need of creating such a Commission?.

FORUM

The "dukhi" IES officer's agony on seeing the cadre review of
ISS and consequential promotion of ISS officers is stemmed out of emotion and not facts. The cadre review of ISS took place for the first time after 40 odd years since the service was formed and the recently promoted SAG officers had already put in about 30 years of struggling career behind them. Govt. had not 'doled out the bonanza' as the learned economist viewed it. On the contrary, Govt got convinced about their role, expertise, competence and hard work in creating a huge data reservoir in respect of employment and unemployment, level of living, land holding, debt and investment, national accounts as well as other socio-economic, industrial and demographic indicators which are widely used by the policy makers and researchers both at national and international levels. Ironically, the expansion of ISS cadre
was recommended by the National Statistical Commission headed by none
other than a renowned economist Prof. C. Rangarajan who rightly perceived the need of the ISS officers in providing a well structured statistical system in the country.
It is unfortunate to see the IES officer instead of
articulating their own cause started weeping at the prosperity of the
ISS cadre. I can only conclude that this economist without doing the
necessary homework penned down a story which never fits in any utility curve.

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Is this 'Open Season' against divestment???
Now RJD has spoken up against disinvestment!!!

RJD's Gupta says that his Party is against divestment in Profit making Companies!!!! Governments should not run businesses…….. this is the bottom line!!! But then Gupta should know better…… his Boss Laloo runs RJD like a business!!!! But Gupta should not worry because the kind of businesses that Laloo runs are not bought or sold….. these businesses are taken over the hostile way…. be it a competitor or the Law.... seems Gupta has misunderstood .... this divestment does not mean those in Government running business...... this is only divestment in Government owned Companies so Gupta need not worry !!!! Don't understand the hullabaloo …..as long as Government is the majority shareholder and only a fraction of the shares are sold then what is the problem????? But then this is a political issue now and when something becomes political it does not necessarily have to be logical!!!!

Now every fortnight there will be meeting of the Core Group,
Into a Hall Sonia, CWC Members, PM, Congress Ministers and Point-men will troop.

Idle mind is a devils workshop and so Sonia is putting some of the idle minds to work. Now Congressmen will be chosen to interact with various Ministeries. The idea behind this is to improve the 'taal meil' between Party and Sarkaar!!! And every fortnight Sarkaar and Party will interact and powwow. On the agenda are price rise and to make PC realize not to make Tax Paying a nightmare…… the Saral From and the PAN check!!! Yes if there was a fall in the Tax revenues then PC could grumble and use new measures to squeeze out tax…… but when the tax collections are what the Finance Ministry itself terms as healthy then why these Gestapo measures???? Of course after the meeting there will be a lavish dinner and of course PMO will foot the Bill!!!

Sainiks say ' Don't mess with Sena',
If you mess abhi bhi padh saktha hai lene ka dena!!!

Tai's , as late Mrs. Thackrey is known to Shiv Sainiks, idol was defaced and Sainiks went on a rampage!!!! Sainiks let all know of that they haven't lost their nuisance value…… they may be 'down' but they still have the might to 'knock out'!!!! And all this warmed the cockles of an angry Balasahib…… every cloud however dark it may be has a silver lining!!!

Commies aim to take Government to task in the upcoming monsoon session,
On this in UPA there is tension!!!

Congress has instructed its MPs to be resent in both Houses during this session……. absenteeism will be dealt with sternly!!!! Congress is also trying to talk its Allies to do the same and to stand by UPA in the Commie onslaught!!! First Commies under instructions from known sources will take up the International Treaty. They will also take Government to task on the fuel hike and price rise!!!! Commies will also try to push through two Bills….. one related to the tribal and their forest rights and another on social security for the unorganized labor. And outside Parliament Commies will continue showing their teeth to this Government!!! Some would say 'So what's new'?????

Laloo is back from his tour ……. tour was to study ' Videshi Rail',
There are chances that to fund his modernization Laloo is planning to put Railway land on sale!!!

Because form where else will he get the money to do what he plans to do????? But shouldn't he first try to rectify things that do not cost Railways to implement …. like reigning in his Saalas , RJD Minister and the relatives and RJD workers!!!! And if he really wants to improve Railways all that he needs to do is go on Bharat Darshan on Rail and leave the Railways to Officials……. or for that matter now go to study the Railways in USA, Canada, Australia etc.!!!!!

Now with the World Cup over please get back to old routine…… sleeping and waking up samay parr,
Continuous Late nights were giving so many during the day and at work heavy sarr!!!

World Cup is over……Italy is the winner. Congressmen don't know where to draw a line when it comes to sycophancy. Some of them got together in Patna and held a Prayer meeting for Italy…… they said that Italy is Sonia's Motherland and so they wanted Italy to win. I'm sure if Sonia saw this on TV she would have said … Non essere stupido (Don't be stupid)!!!!
