FORUM

With the constitution of the National Statistical Commission headed by Pro. S. Tendulkar with other eminent persons namely M/s Bhalla , Kundu (JNU) , Vikas Sinha , Prof. Padam Singh etc. as members , the lobbying for the post of CHief Statistician of India has become hectic. While the IAD lobby is finding it difficult to loose a Secretary level post , a large number of serving ISS officers of the level of DG , ADG , DDG and Director are also trying their best to grab the post . Present DG (NSSO) Dr. K.V.Rao is trying his best to pull the strings at 10 Janpath through Sh. Oscar Fernandes former Minister of Statistics ( both are from Karnataka ) certain other officers are also sparing no efforts . In this internal war among the ISS officers , the IAS is definitely to gain . The present Secretary , Statistics Dr. R.C. Panda , IAS ( Tamilnadu) has the support of present Minister Sh. G.K.Vasan who is also from Tamilnadu.

If the intention of the Government is only to fill the post of CSI through bureaucrats from IAS and ISS , then what is rationale of having a CSI without freshness of approach and long term vision ?. Will it not be desirable to have an economist as the CSI who use the data collected by the NSSO for policy formulation ?. Will 10 Janpath stop imposing any pressure on the Prime Minister .

Fight against terrorism is not cheap,
The all round cost is very steep!!!

As we are now on the terrorist map we have to take measures to fight terrorism and protect ourselves!!!! It's important that we follow the London example and for starters probable targets should be put under camera surveillance…. entrances and exits to such places reduced. Government needs to eves drop more on telephone conversations and Internet messaging. Public should be on the guard all the time…… when you sit in a Public place or in Public transportation please check under your seat and even above in the luggage rack!!!! Fight against terrorism means we have to forgo some democratic rights, be inconvenienced and the Sarkaar's expenditure is going to go up substantially!!!

War on terrorism means UPA will have to consider a law like POTA,
Could be possible that POTA in some other form laota (returns)!!!

Because without a stringent law the fight against terrorism is toothless!! UPA has to give this serious thought!!! Prevention , protection, probing, prosecution and punishment all have to move in tandem!!! Why do the Muslims take POTA be an anti Muslim law??? Is it possible that this is being puppeteered by vested interests??? If UPA wants to save India and Indians it will have to take some steps that Muslims consider, wrongfully, as repressive and anti Muslim

As per the tried and tested formula only 8% of announced relief will reach the affected,
This needs to be corrected!!!

Victims families will be made to run from pillar to post to get the relief announced by the Sarkaar…. Kasme vaayde relief ke vaayde baathen hai baatho ka kya!!! They'll have to shell out money to get approvals. Some will give up. There will many bogus claimants who will rob the system , of course with inside help…… dethe hai Bhagwan ko dhoka insaan ko kya chodhe ge!!!

Now Congress will host meals for Allies and keep in touch on one to one basis,
This is so that Allies do not raise their maces!!!

By the looks of it the Congress core group is going to put on weight with all the Partying that is going to start. Core group already has regular working lunches, teas and dinners with Commies. Now they'll be having similar working meals with Allies. And then when one to one meetings take place with an Ally again it'll be over a meal!!! Of course Congress will find out the likes and dislikes of the Allies who will attend meetings and meals will be planned accordingly…….hope they've heard of the adage …. one man's food is another man's poison!!! One thing is for sure the Desserts will be made with Sugar Free….. practically all the Allies are diabetic…. and so are most Congressmen!!! Also Vajpayee could be contacted for TOT….. on how BJP asserted itself without ruffling the Allies!!!

No divestment means 8000 crore shortfall….. PC has a way,
For those in power PC's way is going to cause dismay!!!

Because PC proposes a drastic cut in Government expenditure!!! Foreign travel, conferences, freebies etc., will have to be cut down to bare minimum!!! The tax payer has filled his coffers so hopefully to cover this 8000 crore shortfall he's not going to trouble us!!!! And then what about the additional expenditure that the PMO will be incurring for all those working breakfasts, lunches and dinners….. could it be possible that the belt tightening would mean that Commies and Allies would be invited to working meals and requested to bring their own food along……. Potluck Working Meetings!!!!

A little birdy says Amrinder plans to arrest Sukhbir a month before votes are cast,
Congressmen say that they are aghast!!!

Because they know if this happens Congress might as well give the Akalis a walk over!!!! Amrinder is also giving Dhindsa special treatment … two in one…… wants to have a friendly Akali ….. and then Dhindsa's victory will ensure Bhattal's rout!!! His Mega Project's refuse to take off…… seems the runway is too cluttered for a safe take off!!!! The smug look on Amrinder's mug has disappeared…….. nowadays he's temperamental and moody!!!! His sidekicks Chahal and Sodhi have developed what is known as 'acute thadthaditis'….. it's a nervous condition!!!
