32 IAS officers of 1973 batch empanelled

After additions and alterations, altogether 32 IAS officers belonging to 1973 batch are reported to have been empanelled to the rank of Secretary in the Government of India. They are Mssrs :- Arun Ramanathan and Shanta Sheela Nair (TamilNadu), U N Panjiyar (Bihar), Ajay Shankar, Rita Sinha, Pradeep Kumar, Alok Sinha , S Behuria , Pritam Singh and Anil Kumar (UP), Anil Razdan, Rajni Razdan and H S Anand (Haryana), Asha Swaroop (Himachal Pradesh), Ashok Chawla and Fernandes Christy Leon (Gujarat), Gautam Buddha Mukherjee (Orissa), P V Bhide, V S Sampat and Sheela Bhide (Andhra Pradesh), Satyanarayana Dash (Kerala), Brahma Dutta (Karnataka), R C Joshi and B K Agrawal (Maharashtra), A K Rath (Jharkhand), Satyanand Mishra, K T Chacko and Ms Rekha Bhargava (Madhya Pradesh), Akhil Kumar Jain (West Bengal) ,C Babu Rajeev( Assam-Meghalaya) and Shiv Raj Singh and Wilfred Lakra (Chhattisgarh) .

Anil Vaish to be RPSC Chairman ?

Rajasthan Chief Secretary, Anil Vaish, is likely to be appointed Chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission. He is 1970 batch IAS officer .

Will Lahari leave North-Block ?

Rumour Mill in the North-Block says that Chief Economic Advisor, Ashok Lahari, is leaving the Finance Ministry.

Chief secretaries to get postings as Secretary in last

The GoI is learnt to have decided that those 1972 batch IAS officials who have been empanelled to the rank of Secretary and are serving as Chief Secretaries in various states would be given postings in last.
There are half a dozen Chief Secretaries of this batch.

Singh to join GMR Group ?

S P Singh is likely to join the GMR Group. 1983 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS officer, Singh, has been interviewed by the group for a senior level position.

Naseem Ahmad empanelled

Naseem Ahmad has been empanelled to the equivalent rank of the Secretary in the Government of India. He is 1972 batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre.

Balu lodges protest !

Surface Transport Minister, T R Balu, has met the Prime Minister on July 12 to lodge his protest against the selection of former Railway Board Chairman, R K Singh, for the post of Chairman National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Dr M Vijayanunni appointed Enquiry Commission

Dr M Vijayanunni, IAS, former Chief Secretary, Kerala, has been appointed as the Commission of Enquiry to go into the allegations of irregularities and misapplication of Tsunami funds by the previous UDF Government in Kerala.

Will GAIL Chairman get extension ?

Will GAIL Chairman, Prashanto Banerjee, get extension till October 2007? The PESB is in favour of giving extension but the top bosses of the Petroleum Ministry are dead against. Petroleum Secretary, M S Srinivasan, too is totally against the extension.

CBI has raided three SBI Officials in Bihar and recovered cash and booty worth much more than their known sources of income.
