Who will be next Cabinet Secretary?

One year extension to BK Chaturvedi, notwithstanding, guessing game for the next Cabinet Secretary too has begun. If one was to go by the seniority, the senior most to be left by then would be Secretary (Revenue) K M Chandrashekhar, followed by former Tamil Nadu Chief secretary Natrajan Narayanan, AK Dubey (Punjab), KK Chakravarty (Chhattisgarh), Meenakshi Dutta Ghosh (UT), J Harinarayan (AP) and Vijay Singh (MP). All these IAS officers belong to 1970 batch.

Ramasami is Secretary Science & Technology

Chennai based Scientist, T Ramasami, has been appointed the new secretary in the Department of Science and Technology in the Government of India.

PD Division yet to take off

The Public Diplomacy Division in MEA was created exactly a month back under the Additional Secretary, Arif Khan (IFS 75), after long and tortuous process and bitter opposition from the Joint Secretary(XP) Navtej Sarna. But the Division has yet to start any work as the Joint Secretary slated for this Division Sunil Lal (IFS 82) is yet to get his orders for repatriation from National Security Council. All the publicity work of the MEA has come to a grinding halt. Meanwhile Khan has left for a foreign tour."

It's a corruption of different kind !

I am saddened to read " Cab sec gets a year's extension " today on 31st May at page 18. While merotocarcy of B . K. Chaturvedi is beyond doubt , it's unfair to his batchmates as they will be retiring without getting top job.

No individual is above system so Govt is setting a bad precedent. If Chaturvedi is so useful , he can be accommodated somewhere else e.g. as Special advisor to PM. But to deprive others of same opportunity is sheer opportunism on part of not only Govt but Chaturvedi also. As Cabinet Secretary , he must be addressing meetings of IAS officers & staff to set an example. Why cannot now he himself set an example by refusing the extension ??? Otherwise , his successors will also be blindly following politicians' dictates to take non-impartial decisions in the fond hope that tomorrow they will also get extension. Sir , it's a corruption of different kind.

All know that Andaleeb is a close friend of Jagat and a distant relation too,
Why is he saying that at Baghdad was the first time that he met Nut mooh to mooh ( face to face)????

Nut, Jagat and Andaleeb should be sent for narco-analysis!!!!! Andaleeb was a regular visitor to Nut's home… so how is it possible that he never met Nut before…… because in his Affidavit to the Pathak Commission Andlaeeb says that he met Nut at a Banquet at Baghdad in 2001 and introduced himself to Nut as a Food Supplier!!!!! Seems they are making Pathak go on a wild goose chase!!! And then they cry that why was Pathak Commissions tenure extended???? Chori aur uss pe seena jori!!!
