The revenue boards are going to the other extreme of debarring all deputations and study leave. Instead of looking at things like whether the person is merely seeking to escape the rigours of the transfer policy / the prestige and difficulty in getting selected for a course, blind refusal on one pretext or the other is made. Is it too much to expect a clear reasoned policy on such matters so that one does not waste efforts? Or one must suffer the "enlightened" whimsical approach.

It is absolutely uncharitable to write like this for IRS officers posted in metros. Do you think officers of any service posted in any city do not indulge in such practices, The IRS does not offer any facilities to its officers. On transfer you have to fend for house, school, transportation and what not. What is legitimately given as facilities? Prababily nothing. So once you are posted at a station and know the streets, it is simply hard to move,. On the other hand it is also true that officers in Kanpur, Lucknow, North-East, Nagpur or for that matter also do not want to move for reasons of convenience. The officer quoted has 2 ottistic children-can anyone imagine how difficult life can be for him. Do not defame this service like this. The other services are equally corrupt if not more.Let someone analyse the things properly instead of using lose language.

A respondent

Is there any Service in which officers don't want to be posted in Metros? Transfer Policy is very good. But please don't look for outrageous reasons to support a very good Policy.
