IAS is targeted not only by politicians but also by fellow services collegues and other services. One way to improve our base is to talk politely, return the telephone calls and report the outcome of a request made for a work. Slowly most of us are becoming rude, discourteous and non-responsive. Some of us play games thinking that other officer would not understand, totally underestimating juniors and fellow officers which creates heartburning amongst us. I request everybody in the IAS. to behave even if you are not able to do their work. I also request our senior officers not to deceive junior officers and colleagues as your every move is known and the background of doing so. In order to create unity in the service and earn goodwill from everyone with whom we work and without their support it is impossible to deliver, it is necessary to behave. Remember, from the topmost position one can only fall.
