Having decided to try its hands in ruling the country, LEFT has also decided that Buddhadeb Bhattacharya will be its PM as and when the occasion arises. Polit Bureau has already discussed the matter. After the grand success in West Bengal and Kerala Polit Bureau of the CPI (M) is learnt to have made up its mind to seek support of Mulayam Singh, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Chandrababu Naidu, AGP, DMK and other like minded parties and persons in ruling the country. In case things materialise, country will go in for mid term poll and the Congress will be asked to support the candidature of the Buddhadeb Bhattacharya.Lal Sallam !

Unprecedented decision!

The second extension granted to the Cabinet Secrtary, BK Chaturvedi, that too when he himself was not in its favour, is said to be unprecedented in the history of Indian bureaucracy. 1966 batch UP cadre IAS officer Chaturvedi will now continue till June 13, 2007.

Four 1968 batch IAS loose hope!

With one year's extension to the Cabinet secretary, BK Chaturvedi, four senior officials of 1968 batch who were hoping to get the coveted post have now lost all hopes. They are Mssrs:-Dhanendra Kumar,Ms Reva Nayyar,Santosh Nautiyal and V K Duggal.

1969 batch IAS wiped out

With one year's extension to the Cabinet secretary, BK Chaturvedi, 1969 batch IAS is now completely wiped out from the race for the coveted post because by the time Chaturvedi retires on June 13, next year, these batch officials too would have superannuated. Those who are going to retire are :-Mssra P K Hota, Dr Adarsha Kishore,K M Sahni,Pritush Sinha,A K Mishra,Adarsha Mishra,Anil Baijal,Ajay Prasad,Sarita Prasad,P Ghosh,P M A Hakeem,B K Das,S N Menon,A K Jha and Radha Singh.

Nine 1970 batch IAS would be affected

With one year's extension to the Cabinet secretary, BK Chaturvedi, Nine 1970 batch IAS officers empanelled to the rank of secretary would also be affected. They too would retire by the time the Cabinet secretary's post falls vacant next year.

Secretary Overseas Affairs in the Government of India Ramesh Narayanswamy is taking over as Chief Secretary of Delhi this afternoon. He is 1971 batch IAS officer of UT cadre.

Sidhartha Chattopadhyay is joining the BSF as DIG. He is 1986 batch IPS officer of Punjab cadre.

Mir goes to J & K
1994 batch Jharkhand cadre IPS officer, Abdul Gani Mir, is joining the J & K Government on inter-state deputation. He has been posted as SSP Anantnag.

Another bureaucratic reshuffle in Orissa soon !
After the Secretary level changes in Orissa, now the transfers of Collecotrs are awaited. Transfer order is likely to come by 2nd June '06. Another list of Secretary and Director level changes is expected to come before 2nd week of June.

The remark about allowing IAS officers to go to private sector is very funny. Don't the IAS officers know the salary they will receive when they join the service? If their purpose is to earn money, why do they then join the civil services. Our civil services have not received a level of honesty and impartiality which is required for implementing such a radical measure. Regarding IAS vs Non IAS officers, I am reasonably sure if this measure is ever implemented, it will not be extended to non IAS officers with many excuses given. But the main reason for this exclusion will be to ensure the superiority of the IAS needlessly.

SP is out in UP, RJD will not do too well in Bihar, AGP has already been drubbed in Assam, DMK will not like to loose its Government in TN......and Congress as of today will do better than last time!!!! So the 24 Karat question is …… would the Commies continue arm twisting UPA and continue enjoying indirect power or will they make a foray for an improbability…….only God and the Russians know!!!!!

After committing when he does not turn up there are disappointments!!!

Amrinder first agrees to attend functions and then at the last minute does not turn up…… official reason…… busy with matters of State………actual reasons….. function was too early and Amrinder was still tucked in blankets in his room which is maintained at 18 degrees centigrade or he was nursing a bad hangover…… or the function was too late….. infringed on his happy hours!!!!! Badal is a 24x7 politician, Amrinder is a 6x5 politician ( noon to 5 pm from Monday thru Friday)!!!!!

All of us must understand that the IAS has rendered yeoman service for the nation. Accordingly, the steel frame must endure. It would be shortsighted to allow our prejudices to blinker our vision and say that PCS officers should man the Districts and render the IAS defunct. The way out perhaps is what has been suggested by A K Singh to have PCS men promoted to the IAS in 10-12 years, to take care of legitimate aspirations of everybody.
