Only IAS are blessed to rule the country
Yes, I fully agree. All other services are very incompetent. Only IAS are blessed to rule the country. In fact even Indian Foreign Service is also a very lowly lot. And after retirement, every IAS officer should be given a pension equal to five times his last pay, a five acre farmhouse in any city of his choice, a duplex bunglow and five persons including a driver and a cook as personal staff. Pakistan army already has something of this kind.

It is riduculous

It is ridiculous to here in today's modern age that IAS officials are supreme and only they should be secretaries. Many Professors in top IIMs rate IAS officers in the bottom of the scale vis-à-vis non IAS officers. Why don't put aside our egos and work for the development of the country? If a person from non - IAS is better than IAS on merit (not on political connection or lobby !!!), let him occupy the top post. What is harm in it? Let us learn from the mistakes (by making only IAS as secretaries) . Let everyone compete for it, truth will emerge!

IAS is better than other service

While competence may not be the exclusive preserve of any particular service, the IAS is, by virtue of training, experience, exposure and job profile far better equipped than any other Service to man the Government of India. However, there is nothing to cavil at if IPS officers making the grade are chosen for particular jobs!

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Welcome to One for Fun. This time my imaginary guest is Sharad Pawar, BCCI President and India 's Agriculture Minister ( in this order) . The venue is the President's Box at PCA, Mohali and the India versus Australia match is being played.

Me: You had justify Congress saying that you could not accept a foreigner as your Leader!!!
Pawar: Yes you see at that time I felt so……. and once Sonia Ji did tyaag this issue became a non-issue!!! I just felt with so much domestic talent why were we depending on a foreigner???
Me: If Indianness is so high on your agenda then why did you go abroad for your surgery….. why could you not trust Indian Doctors???? And now as President of BCCI why don't you revert to an Indian Coach … why a videshi coach…… Indian Doctors are very talented and so are Indian Coaches….. from the SUV you are driven about in, to your pen, specs and maybe down to your shoes all are foreign made... your Indianness as can be seen is nothing but hypocrisy!!! Do you still harbor the ambition of becoming India 's PM….. now that Sonia has done tyaag of PM's post why don't you and your flock return to Congress???
Pawar: You see in politics nothing can be ruled out. Did anyone ever think that Manmohan ji would become India 's PM?? You have to be in the right place at the right time!!! About returning to Congress ……you must have heard the adage…. its better to be a big man in a small town rather than a small man in a big town (winks at me)!!!
Me: So at present you are trying to move to the right place…… by trying to form a Third Front!!
Pawar: No no ….. you see Third Front is so that Congress does not bully smaller Parties who are part of or are supporting UPA!!!
Me: Jaylalitha is not part of the UPA and you are in constant touch with her!!!
Pawar: No no…. you see I'm genuinely worried about Amma……. Amma and I share a brother sister relationship…… I'm worried that Karunanidhi will avenge his arrest……. to lift Amma, like he was lifted, I'm worried what will the TN Police use…… crane or Female weightlifters… so I keep myself constantly updated….. after all being in the Center I can help out!!!
Me: But don't you feel its wrong of you to attempt forming a Third Front while being a Cabinet Minister and a UPA ally!!
Pawar: No no …. you see UPA is term specific….. I'm looking ahead……. and if Congress is bearing SP's blatant attacks then why not bear my adventurism???
Me: With so many capable Leaders in your Party why have you named your daughter as your heir apparent???
Pawar: NCP means Nobody Can Question Pawar!!!
Me: Where's the Q in NCP for you to say this????
Pawar: Q is unseen but not silent…… next question!!
Me: Fact is NCP means No Continuance after Pawar……. you are considered India 's worst Agriculture Minister!!!
Pawar: I feel because of me Indians have realized the potential of Agriculture!!! People were taking agriculture for granted…. I stopped this. I feel as Minister of Agriculture I've done my job…… now people cannot take agriculture for granted!!!!
Me: But aren't you worried about Farmers committing suicide???
Pawar: We've investigated and all the Farmer suicides are actually natural deaths.
Me: Very cruel .......with such a pathetic and insensitive Minister of Agriculture no wonders Farmers are committing suicide…….. how can you even eat your food when you know that you too are responsible for Farmers committing suicide???
Pawar: Aha….. too….. that means there are others involved!!! So first ask the 'toos' and then ask me!!!
Me: As the person heading the Ministry the buck stops at your table!!!
Pawar: No no you see when the blame buck comes I'm seated behind BCCI President's table …..next question!!!
Me: Mr . Pawar this is ludicrous…….as BCCI President you are not doing any better……. you are judged by the team's performance!!!
Pawar: Who says so???? You people are really funny ……..first you judge my being a Minister by farmers plight and suicides , spiraling prices and food insecurity… and now you are judging my BCCI Presidentship based on the team's performance…. its like blaming the Pundit who solemnized the marriage for the marriage failing!!!
Me: Seems you simply do not have an idea of your responsibilities!!!
Pawar: Nothing of the sort…….. both as a Minister and as BCCI President I know my responsibilities!!!
Me: No I think your are muddled….. in your Ministry you work as if you are the BCCI President and in the BCCI you work like a Minister!!!
Pawar: How have you come to this conclusion???
Me: Because you are playing with lives as a Minister and with you at the helm in BCCI there is nothing but politics….. no wonders the Farmers, Aam Indian and the Indian Cricket Team are all in the dumps!!!
Pawar: I disagree…. see the money I've brought into BCCI….. today BCCI is the richest Sports Body!!!
Me: And the Indian team is the biggest failure…. I won't be surprised if the sponsors you have roped in back out of their agreements!!!
Pawar: Let them back out…. there is money in this too!!
Me: What about prestige???
Pawar: For that we have hired one of the best PROs……. and we have the money to unleash an ad blitzkrieg!!!
Me: But when it comes to your stint as Agriculture Minister public knows everything!!!!
Pawar: And despite this they have and will vote for me and my Party!!!
Me: So now you are trying to say that it's the Public's fault!!!
Pawar: That's the crux of the matter…. after all it's the Public that elects us…. so the buck actually stops at the Public's voting finger!!!
Me: Thank you for your time….. and I hope the Public reads this and hope in the next elections there is no disconnect between the brain and the voting finger!!!!

Government may reduce pressnote reach
After the government's in-principle approval to allow Guardian
International to set up a wholly-owned subsidiary without a
no-objection certificate (NOC) from its joint venture partner, Press Note 1 seems to have come under the review radar. While in Guardian's case the government has allowed the foreign company to set up a 100% venture without an NoC, in a number of other foreign ventures it has made it necessary to furnish an NOC.
Press Note 1 states that a foreign company does not need government's approval to set up a 100% subsidiary in the same field as its JV, if its existing JV partner holds less than a 3% stake or where the partner is defunct or sick. But, this is not the first time that the Press Note 1 has been diluted in favour of a foreign company. In the case of US-based AES Energy, FIPB gave permission to the company to set up a new plant even though the venture violated the conflict of interest clause in the shareholders' agreement (SHA).

PNB tapping the youth

The proverbial saying of "Early bird catches the worm" seems to be the guiding principle for the Punjab National Bank(PNB).This is explicit from the PNB's India wide drive of tapping youth between 10 and 15 years in facilitating them to open their accounts with the PNB. It is multi pronged strategy. Main among them being removing inhibitions that many Indians have while operating their bank accounts or transacting business with any bank.Even prepare a bank of customers who ,by the time enter any professional line prefer only the PNB to any other bank. Undisputedly a good strategy for a bloodless coup in the bank sector.
