FORUM

Wider debate needed on new Police act
The new Police Act has the IAS and the IPS divided. It is a fact that wider debate is needed on the issue. However, narrow Service interests should not mar fresh thinking on the part of Civil society. The debate should not degenerate into a mere turf war between the Services.
How about some reforms in the Income Tax Act and the Customs Act as well to reduce rates, discretion, rent seeking etc. And how about screening all senior IRS (Customs), IRS (Income Tax), IPS officers by the CVC to check what they are up to?

Rajeevratan

Is this the reason ?
Maybe the IAS blokes know what the political executive wants and the dull DGPs don't??

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Alleged that Paswan has been using SAIL to settle personal bills,
Officials at SAIL say ' we do what the Mantri wills'!!!

SAIL settled two hefty mobile bills of Paswan …. Rs.77,000…… then SAIL purchased a mobile phone worth Rs. 30,000 for Paswan's Additional Personal Secretary….. Paswan denies any knowledge of these two favours!! SAIL shelled out Rs. 1.5 lakh to charter hire a plane for Paswan's recent Jaipur trip. SAIL has funded Paswan's daughters marriage…. Rs. 1 crore. Don't know why Paswan did not use Laloo's modus operandi for settling bills for his daughter's marriage??? SAIL Officials say that they are helpless… refusing the magarmach of the pond is injurious to one's health!!!

'Shorthand' Dhawan says Sonia should be careful,
Warns that her inner circle 'gadaaro' se hai full!!!

Dhawan feels that there is a 'gang' in Sonia's inner circle that is plotting to weaken her position!!! Dhawan says that Sonia should maintain her distance from her circle of advisors and friends!!! He feels that like Indhra was let down in 1977 Sonia too may face the same 'let down'!!! Dhawan has been sidelined and is itching for a comeback!!! If Sonia has anything to worry she its from the likes of Laloo and Pawar….. and Dhawan took the help of Laloo to gain entry into Rajya Sabha!!!

Is Congress thinking of Midterm elections????
There is no doubt Congress is buoyed by the current projections!!!

Congress could get the Commies of its back!!!!! PM aspirants like Laloo and Paswan would also be set right!!! But then it's a huge gamble……. shared Power in hand is better than Absolute Power in the bush!!!! UP elections can have huge implications!!! The questions Congress needs to ask…….. should we strike when the iron is hot and how long will the iron remain hot????

If Amrinder is so sure that there is no jiggery pokery in the City Centre case,
Then he should have no problems ke this case karre CBI inquiry face!!!

The proof of innocence is the kind of Inquiry ordered!!!! And there are allegations that his son is involved in the City Centre fraud!!! As it looks Amrinder plans to stonewall any investigation!!! He wants to wait it out till the elections are over….. his logic 'if I win then nothing to worry and if I loose then this is going to just one more worry'!!!! Akalis just have to concentrate on Doaba for a landslide victory!!!!

Jethmalani is itching for a retrial,
So that law ko karr sake beguile!!!

If Jethmalani gets Manu off the hook Indian Law will be laughed at…… it'll show the high and mighty can get sway with murder!!!! Jethmalani says that Bina was not in the room where Manu was shot……. fact is that leave alone the same room Jethmalani was not in the vicinity of the Colonade or may have not been in the City , so how has he passed the ' Not Guilty' sentence for Manu!!! And its time Society reacted to Jethamalani trying to get Manu off the hook……boycott him… treat him with contempt!!!

Bharat Kumar
