Wider debate needed on new Police act
The new Police Act has the IAS and the IPS divided. It is a fact that wider debate is needed on the issue. However, narrow Service interests should not mar fresh thinking on the part of Civil society. The debate should not degenerate into a mere turf war between the Services.
How about some reforms in the Income Tax Act and the Customs Act as well to reduce rates, discretion, rent seeking etc. And how about screening all senior IRS (Customs), IRS (Income Tax), IPS officers by the CVC to check what they are up to?

Don't know why Paswan did not use Laloo's modus operandi for settling bills for his daughter's marriage??? SAIL Officials say that they are helpless… refusing the magarmach of the pond is injurious to one's health!!!
