Plenty of excellent officers in other services

Its difficult to change mindsets like that of Kamala Kanta. Some officers still keep on living in this ruler mentality as I quote from his statement "IAS is blessed to rule this country". Unfortunately today a good majority of the officers have forgotten that they are not the British rulers but public servants and the role of a public servant is to provide the service to the public not to rule them. There is no denying that some of the best brains of the country make through the civil services and we have a plenty of excellent officers in each of the service. But the UPSC exam qualification can not be the sole critieria of talent identification for a country as large and complex as ours with many social and economic realities. There is a plenty of talent within different civil services and also the other arenas of the govt and private sector. We must not forget that persons like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr Manmohan Singh, E.A Sasidharan, P A Chidambaram, Montek Singh Ahluwalia and many more such stalwarts who have contributed greatly to the growth of country in different fields don't come from our coveted civil service examination. I wd say that even the thought of reserving secretaries posts for a service specific or only for civil services alone is vindication of the closed mindset that our administration has acquired over the years. We would have to expand the base of administration to different specialities with a sole objective in the view that how can the progress of the country be ensured. Persons like Kamala Kanta are representative of the old feudalistic bureaucratic mindsets and have nothing much to offer in terms of thought process of nation building. But I hope there are plenty of forward thinking officers in IAS and other services who have the intellectual levels to rise above all this parochial service oriented discussions and work towards reforming our administration to get it ready for the challenges of this century. Our future generations are looking forward to us to set the example.

There are specialists in different fields

It appears that this fellow is a well-frog of the kind Swamy Vivekananda referred in his historic address at Chicago a century ago. He is simply unaware of the vast potentialities of specialists in different fields. Be aware of such super-ego!

Green-eyed monster

Frowned upon and looked at suspiciously. One should not be so captive to the green eyed monster. The idea that civil servants who resign from Service should cool their heels for two years and survive on thin air is a bit frivolous as well.

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Ram Jethmalani is Manu Sharma's new Lawyer,
To defend Manu, Ram will have to be a very good liar!!!

Manu shot Jessica…. this even Manu has confessed!!! But Jethmalani is going to try to get Manu off the hook on technicalities!!! The Media and Public should not relent because Manu's Dad is not going to leave any stone unturned to get his son off the hook!!! Lets see who wins…. Jethmalani or truth!!! Just for the record Jethamalani has an impressive record of making truth loose and in some cases truth win!!!!

Priyadarshini's killer is in jail,
Now hope in SC justice nahi hoe fail!!!

Santosh spent his first full day in Tihar reading newspapers and referring to law books in the Tihar Library!!! The authorities say he looked forlorn….. with the gallows in sight he's depressed!!! He had no visitors…. which is surprising viewing the reaction of his friends when the HC had pronounced him guilty….. seems it was just froth!!!

Both Venod Sharma and D.P. Yadav are moneyed and powerful,
To get their sons off the hook both are going to use their money and pull!!

There is a view that Media should not create a hype as this effects justice!! In that case they should lock up Venod Sharma and D.P. Yadav and make them totally incommunicado till the case is not decided!!! If both have the freedom to do everything in their power to subvert justice then We The People have the right to ensure that justice is not subverted!!!

Maybe Foreign Universities setting up shop in India will be exempted from Quotas…. Sibal wants this!!
On Quotas why should only Foreign Universities be given the miss???

Foreign Universities have quotas ……. citizens and foreigners !!! So they too have Quotas!!!! Today Arjun Singh has literally brought education on the road!!! The anti religion toxification in NCERT Books and Quotas are the banes of Indian education!!! Arjun may take his move to be a very shrewd political move but he's put the education system and students into a quandary!!

Punjabis say that Amrinder should undertake his Yatra in his Chopper,
This Yatra is going to come out as a cropper!!!

For four and half years he's not bothered about meeting Punjabis!!! He's kept his distance and now with the elections around the corner an ex Raja is planning to go around with his begging bowl asking for votes!!! And Mr. Amrinder Singh if you see some Punjabis waving out to your Yatra don't feel elated…. they are actually saying bye bye!!!!

Today Ash is Thirty Three…… isn't it high time she got hitched,
They say when she was in love with Salman she had got her wedding dress stitched!!!

Ash with all her makeup looks like she in her mid twenties….. without her makeup I hear she looks like she's forty!!! Heroines tend to get the 'wedding itch' when they cross thirty!!! When she was going around with Salmaan I hear she got her wedding dress stitched…. Salman too got his wedding togs stitched…… he went for the tapori look!!! Now they say the Bachchans have okayed Abhishek's marriage with Ash….. Ash should not take them for their word ….. after all there is a reason why Big B means Big Bluffmaster!!!!
