Johny Jospeh to be Secretary Power ?
The dark-horse for the post of Secretary Power is Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Johny Joseph. In case Johny Joseph doesn't make it, he is going to be Chief Secretary of Maharashtra early next year. 1972 batch IAS officer, Joseph, has already been promoted to the rank of ACS.

1970 batch IRS officer R Prasad is also considered to be hot contender for the post. He is reportedly being backed by the Bihar and a particular Mumbai lobby. One has to wait for the outcome.

Will Arora be Chief Secretary of Assam ?
Name of A K Arora has started doing the round for the post of Chief Secretary of Assam. He is 1974 batch IAS officer.

Bardhan to return to Madhya Pradesh
Sukomal Chandra Bardhan is expected to return to the parent Madhya Pradesh cadre next month. He is 1973 batch IAS officer.

Anuradha Mansingh, Chairperson of Chemical Weapons convention in the Cabinet Secretariat, will superannuate this month end. She is 1970 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre.

For Parliament Session debates on Govt. performance, MPs / Newspaper editors / Secretaries, it is heard are scrambling for the "Outcomes & Outlays Report" of Dr. Nandini Azad (Ex- Planning Commission, Outcome Division), - Which is believed to contain authentic information on all Ministries performance ? PM Manmohan Singhs praise of the Outcome report makes it more sought off in Govt. "corridors". Only available copy, it is rumoured is outside Delhi, in a bank "vault". Whispers are that a MOS waylaid the author in a plane for it but with no "Outcomes".

Experienced in Outcomes for vote banks (and with only 29 mths to elections), trusted technocrats like Dr. Azad (from previous Cong regimes) seem to be "the flavour of the hour" - Roping them into Govt. could definitely have "political" Outcomes! for bolstering image and performance ???

People have not bitten Laloo's bait…… for the past few weeks Laloo had managed to get himself positioned in the Media for this crown!!! Would have been a real joke if Laloo the Buffoon had been crowned as Mantri Number One!!! But Laloo tried his best…… he wooed the Media…….. when the voting was taking place he and his eight children and their friends and then thier friends were on their computers punching in vote after vote for Laloo!!! But Public got the last word……… and his Number Two position is because he tried for the Number One spot….. other Ministers did not try and had Laloo not tried he would have come in the last four!!!!

Aiyer, who has a huge problem with PC says India's 8% growth rate is a farce!!! As per Aiyer the 8% growth is only the growth of Billionaires in India!!!! Aiyer should limit his comments to the Queen's English and not comment on Economic matters!!! Just recently Aiyer was seen begging from a Royal Couple on a visit to India!!! Sonia should ensure that Aiyer is muzzled when he comes out in Public ….. and the lesser he comes into Public the better!!!

First there was news that Government was contemplating a reduction in domestic fuel prices as World Oil Prices had fallen!!! Then Murli bajaoed his Murli and said that Oil Prices would be revised downwards only when World Oil Prices fall to $ 50/ barrel!! He's not clarified whether he meant the Indian Basket or Brent Crude!!! There is some bug in the Petroleum Minister's chair that makes the incumbent abs pro the Oil Companies!!! Nowadays Murli's murli bajaoes only pro Oil Company tunes!!! What he needs to do is research and find out what is the true meaning of Public Sector Undertaking?????

First why should someone want to frame Manu??? Why is he blaming the Media for doing its job???? Why did Jethmalani who had announced his retirement form regular Legal practice take up Manu's case???? Why is Jethmalani harping that Manu is ready for a retrial??? Why does Jethmalani get so angry when a question is asked about his intentions to take the Manu case and his line of Defense????? Why does he want Justiice Sodhi to excuse himself from this case???? Why does he say that Clients lie but Advocates do not??? Why is he ignoring the pleas from his family and close friends not to take this case???? Why is he not agreeing that he himself has asked for drinks way beyond the bar working hours at Tamrind Court??? Has he asked Manu if he is guilty or not??? Seems now its time that Public started sending 10 Questions to Ram Jethamalani everyday ( recall his ten question to Rajiv during the Bofors days)!!!

CONCOR's profit goes up
The Containers Corporation of India (CONCOR), of which Managing Director is Rakesh Mehrotra, has been able to add one more achievement by earning net profit of 55 per cent during the last quarter. CONCOR's this achievement is significant when compared to the last financial year's profit in the second quarter. Last year it was Rs.122.13 crore while this year it was Rs.189.34 crore. This was possible due to, (a)increase in volume of the CONCOR, (b)the cost cutting measures that the CONCOR had adopted.
