In many departments / Offices, there is no need to attend office every day. Officers can be allowed to work from the home via active internet interaction. A particular day may be fixed to discuss the important matters. A quantum of work may be fixed week-wise / officer -wise. This will help developing importance of work , than mere presence. This will also reduce the cost of office maintenance to a great extent and will enhance the speedy disposal of work. In most of the cities, there is a scarcity of space for office accommodation which can be solved without much difficulty with working from home. Basic facilities like Telephone, Computer with internet connection ( with restricted use) can be provided at Govt. cost. All stationeries should be made a part of the salary by introducing monthly allowances. This will also solve the traffic problem and the kind of strain people put to reach offices. When the spouse is also working in Govt. both should be treated independently for the purpose of benefits Viz., Accommodation, LTC, Home Loan etc. Only one HRA should be deducted as the facilities provided in Govt Quarters are very poor quality for that one HRA is more than sufficient.
