FORUM

After joining IAS/IPS even atheists start believing in God. Detachment, the essence of Veda, they learn when they become fairly senior when politicians start teaching them the pragmatism.

As soon as there is a raise in salary of MPs, other political leaders and Government employees, there is lot of hue and cry in media that the public money is wasted or misutilized.
But the public should know that when 'Babus' of media and Private companies get their salary and perks and raised which public never comes to know its volume and frequency also cost to public money only. Ultimately they also charge their expenses from public money only. The only difference is that in government it has to be done in a transparent manner and in private it is always hidden to the extent that even other employees of the same organisation are not aware of increase.

Another aspect of salary increase should be seen in cleaning the administration. The salary has to be given in proportion to power exercised by the individual employee. If you pay them
less and they are able to make much more money through their exercising power, the corruption will never go away. This gap has to be bridged.

The Government is an employer and it has a right to decide the payment given to their employees and political employees like any other employer.
Let others first come out in open about their salary and perks structure and its raise from time to time and then can criticise.
