Comments on CVC's remarks on corruption
There is a skeleton in almost every cupboard and presently no service appears above board and therefore in a position to point a finger towards the other in the matter of corruption. Merely holding the levers of powers and having exclusive access to decision making does not authorise any one to label the other service corrupt. Before branding a service corrupt the CVC should have thought about his own clan. It is well known that today's administration is development oriented and huge plan or developmental funds are dealt with by the District Collector or his subordinates, exclusively an IAS preserve. And how one can forget the claim made by one of the Indian Prime Minister that out of every rupee only ten paise reaches the actual beneficiary. And if some natural calamity strikes a District then the figures of misappropriation of funds can be mind-boggling. Not only this, if that service has a clear track record why JS and above are protected against any enquiry from CVC? Therefore having such a track record how CVC can brand a particular service as corrupt and close eyes towards others.

But at the same the revenue services IRS, ICES or any other similar state services also cannot be said to have a proven clean track record. First officers from this service suffer from the illusion that they are
the one who help turn the wheels of nation by providing fuel of funds. Where as the reality is that the fund generation takes place because of painful economic activity and not because of the presence of revenue services. Their mere role is that of a recovery agent on behalf of the government and not that of revenue generator. On the other hand how can one ignore the fact that the size of parallel economy in India is almost half the size of the actual economy? It is anybody's guess that it becomes possible only with the connivance of and being hand in glove of the revenue officials and the assessees. Has one ever pondered why India has emerged as one of the important transit route for drugs in international drugs market or money laundering through Mauritius or ot! her tax haven? It is simply not possible this with the connivance of customs officials. Therefore there seems to be no reason to be blaming each other and calling names. The father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi used to have a quote written in bold letters and placed on his table that reads, If you are wrong you have no right to be angry, and if you are right you have no reason to be angry. Therefore when every body is on the wrong side then why point fingers at each other. Instead need of the hour is to infuse new thinking into civil servants of being facilitators and not merely administrator.

However in this war of words actual facts are always lost sight of.
Over the years the Government, particularly the Central Government has no doubt remained an attractive employer. Except providing facilities to the self styled elite IAS it has absolved it self from providing even basic facilities of shelter, transport and above all a decent salary to its other employees. First as maintained by many others a major portion of the paltry salary drawn by central government employees goes into satisfying the basic needs of food, shelter transportation etc with very little left to think of to do anything. Officers from Group A services have to wait for about eight to ten years for getting even a two room Hostel Accommodation. The situation in case of 97% of the Government of India comprising class three and four employees is rather appalling. An assistant or babu is able to move into a government accommodation only at the fag end of their career, after putting in a service of about 25 years or so. And what adds insult to injury is that the meagre transport allowance given to the central government employees. Because of non-availability of government accommodation majority of the subordinate staff is forced to live in rented accommodation far away from the office leading to higher transport expenditure. It is beyond one's understanding that how a train or bus ticket is available to a subordinate employee at concessional rates as compared to other people.
Another interesting anomaly is that of highly remunerative salaries drawn by PSU employees such as banks, ONGC etc. How they are entitled to more for doing the same or even less than their government counterparts and that too out of the taxpayers money of from consolidated fund of India. Some argue that they generate profits, but the counter argument is that was the investment was made by them from their private savings? No, in fact the huge investments were made out of state exchequer and therefore the extra profit should also flow into state exchequer and not into the pockets of PSU employees in the form of bonus, higher salaries and higher perks etc. Will sanity ever prevail in making the pay scale uniform across the government? Will Policy makers also take time out to ponder over to provide basic facilities like accommodation etc. to the not so fortunate? Last but not the least, if not at par with private sector at least to some respectable level of remuneration must definitely be provided to Government employees for living an honourable life.

Yours sincerely
Agrim Kaushal

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Sonia equated Mulayam's rule to 'andher nagri chaupat Raja',
Mulayam ne bajaa diya hai UP ka band baaja!!!

There is no doubt whatsoever that during Mulayam's rule UP has become Ulta Pulta!!! Goon Law is the law of the land and Mulayam Sarkaar is of goons and for goons!!! The Gabbar and Sambah jodi , Mulayam and Amar, have made UP a place where goonda might is right!!! As per the present trends for the upcoming UP Polls Mulayam is out and Mayawathi is in……… and when she comes to power 'jaise ko taisa milla' song from Bollywood will be the new favorite in UP!!!!

But Sonia should also keep in mind Congress's very own Chaupat Raja,
Jiss ne bajaaya hai Punjab ka band baaja!!!

Amrinder tries his level best not to attend any functions or rallies nowadays!!! Today it was pretty evident why he keeps away form functions!!! He was to inaugurate a Vetinary Mela and there the students of the College literally ensured that he did not inaugurate the Mela and Raja with his tail between his legs ran off to his 'udhan khatola' and flew away!!!!

NCP now means Napping and Crapping Pawar,
Because of his napping and crapping Aam Aadmi ko padh rahi hai maar!!!

First he was napping and then when things came to a head Pawar started crapping!!!! Was napping as Minister of Agriculture but was wide awake as President of BCCI…. Board for Crookedness in Cricket in India!!! Pawar's got his daughter into Rjaya Sabha and daughter dear, though a novice, has already expressed her desire to become Maharashtra's CM!!! This move will not go down too well with many in NCP…. Pawar has himself sown the seeds of discontent!!!!

Shiela Dixit and Deshpande could get the axe,
Reasons to be axed mein they have scored max!!!

Shiela may blame the Courts and Deshpande may holler from rooftops that he's never met Telgi but both are going to be booted out!!! Shiela boasts that she has a 'master plan' and Deshpande says that he's the proverbial cat with nine lives…….. but the writing is clear on the wall …….. out with the two!!!!

After his lecture at IIM Laloo is on cloud nine,
Fact is in a new bottle it's the same old saddeli wine!!!!

The conclusion of Laloo's 'bray' at IIM was that 'delegation of authority' did the job for Railways!!! In Laloo's case it was more out of force because he was so busy with Bihar elections and this was the only viable option available to him. Factual equations ….. Cow plus Chaara is equal to Gobbar……. ( Cow plus Chaara) into Laloo is also equal to Gobbar!!!!
