Rakesh Mohan, Deputy Governor - Reserve Bank of India, is believed to have been nominated officially for the post of Managing Director of the World Bank. Whether he gets it would depend on what President Bush and PM Manmohan Singh talk during his impending India visit.

Saunik to be PS to Shinde

Manoj Saunik will be PS to Union Power Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde. He is 1987 batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre. Saunik was on foreign assignment to Kosovo for the past five years and had returned to India a couple of months ago.

Dr Goyal to be Amaravati' Divisional Commissioner

Dr Sudhir Kumar Goyal is moving from the post of Commissioner Agriculture of Maharashtra State to Divisional Commissioner Amaravati revenue Division.1982 batch IAS officer, Dr Goyal, would succeed Manoj Saunik (1987 IAS) who is going as PS to Sushil Kumar Shinde in Centre. Dr Goyal had total of seven years' tenure as Agriculture Commissioner and was very popular among staff and political masters alike.

1976 batch IAS officer, T N Mannen, is being tipped to be the new Development Commissioner of Nagaland. He would succeed 1975 batch IAS officer, E T Ao, who is retiring by this month end.

But the ISS meterologists say that promotion orders of DG, HAG and SAG level are likely to come out well after onset of monsoon due to some disturbances. Hence, some aspirants vacated or are vacating their govt. accommodation to get settled in their own sweet home all alone.

Chandrababu now feels that a certain level of anti incumbency against Congress has set in and so he's started working on a comeback in AP…. and he's keeping his BJP links alive also….. he is open to a post election tie up with BJP….anything that will get him back to power in AP!!!!

Or UPA should reverse the meeting agenda…. Cocktails , dinner and then meeting!!! Results will be really good for UPA!!! It'll be…. they came, wined, ate, whined and Left left!!!

Directly the Punjab Government and indirectly 'We the People' are paying for Amrinder patting himself on the back in Public!!! Everyday Amrinder's mug is on the front page of Newspapers with one-liners about his achievements!!! Amrinder himself or his Party should be footing the bill for this publicity…. but then Amrinder, being an ex Raja, cannot differentiate between the Treasury and his pocket!!!!

Tenth Plan Power Target under review ?

The new Union Power Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, has started review of the 10th Plan funds utilization, capacity addition, village electrification, etc., of the Power Sector. With only one year left for the 10th plan to be over, the Minister wants to make last minute efforts to salvage the situation. According to preliminary information provided to the Minister, there is likely to be a shorftfall almost everywhere.
In the hydro sector, NHPC has so far spent only Rs. 7,000 crores out of the total allocation of Rs. 32,000 crores. The capacity addition will be only about 60 per cent of the target.
Electrification of villages is also far behind schedule.
Even NTPC is not likely to meet the capacity addition targets as also funds utilization. The new Minister has very limited choice.

Rakesh Kumar Gupta is expected to join as Chief Vigilance Officer in the National Co-operative Federation. He is 1986 batch IAS officer of J & K cadre.
