Orissa Chief Secretary, Subas Chandra Pani, is likely to be appointed new Secretary Information Technology in the Government of India. He is 1972 batch IAS officer.

G Elias to be Joint Secretary Steel

G Elias is being appointed another Joint Secretary Steel in the Government of India. He is 1982 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre.

One dozen 1980 batch IPS officers empanelled

Altogether 13 IPS officers belonging to 1980 batch have been empanelled to the rank of Joint Secretary in the Government of India. They are Mssrs Shanti Kumar Jain (UT) Navneet Rajan Wasan, Lokendra Sharma (AP), Sunit Kumar and Pramod Kumar Thakur (Bihar), Rajeev Jain (Jharkhand), Udayan Mukherjee (Karnataka), K P Raghuvanshi and Ahmad Jawed ( Maharashtra), Surendra Singh (Madhya Pradesh), S N Jain (Rajasthan) Anoop Jaiswal and N P Singh (TamilNadu).

10 years as Secretary to Government of India

R L Meena is presently the Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs, Government of India. He is also known as the Law Secretary of GOI.
At present he is the longest serving Secretary to Government of India. He was elevated to the level of Secretary in 1996, when he got promoted as Secretary of the Law Commission of India. Subsequently, he moved as the Secretary, Dept of Legal Affairs. Only the officers from services other than the IAS/IPS/IFS or other organized Civil Services (to which recruitment is through a competitive examination conducted by UPSC) can have such long tenures. Officers recruited from Scientist cadre (who man Dept of Atomic Energy, Space, Bio Technology, CSIR, Science & Technology, Oceanography etc.) or economists can have, at least on paper, such long tenures. When Montek Singh Ahluwalia came as JS to PM, he was very young and hence he could become Commerce Secretary in his early fifties. So was the present PM who was Chief Economic Adviser to GOI. (The present CEA, Dr Ashok Lahiri also has similar advantage.)
Coming back to the case of Meena, very few people would know that he was appointed to the IPS (and was allotted to West Bengal Cadre) in 1997. In a few years he took the wise decision to quit the IPS and went back to his home state Rajasthan. In the early eighties he joined the Law Ministry as Deputy Legal Adviser and has never looked back since then. Now he has the distinction of serving TEN years as Secretary to GOI.
He retires from Government Service on March 31, 2006.

Government has appointed Dr K V Rao one of the best officers of Indian Statistical Service (ISS) as DG and CEO(NSSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation , a post equivalent to Special Secretary in the Government of India. Now Government has appointed J Harinarayan, Secretary in Ministry of Water Resources, as also the Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Prog. Implementation. Why could the Government not give charge of Secretary to Dr K V Rao? Guess!.

There is no doubt whatsoever that Mullah Mulayam's Muslim appeasement made him turn a deaf ear to reports that things like this were in the offing!!!

Why is it when in comes to Muslims Mulayam Mullah's roar turns to a mew???

Yes we too know that Pakistan is behind this blast!!! But what about the Muslims who live here and see this is a Islamic cause!!! They are not pro Pakistan …. they are pro Islam!!! The Islam that teaches them that Kafirs are infidels and that Jehaad is just!!! The actual meaning of Kafir is one who does not believe in God…. and Jehad is the internal war a pious Muslim wages for self - purification!!! Mullah Mulayam's infatuation with Muslims is because of their votes…… and for this he is willing to wage jehad against Kafirs ….. jehad and kafir the Mullah version!!!

As usual Shivraj says no efforts will be spared to nab the perpetrators ….. hasn't he heard prevention is better than cure???
And then why not take preemptive measures if he is so sure!!!

Because if he's so sure to nab the perpetrators then it should not be a problem to take measures to prevent such incidents. But, then India has let down its guard. Laws have been watered down …. and all just to please a certain community!!!! Talk peace but do not let your guard down!!!!

For Laloo the Godhra deaths or the deaths in riots do not matter….. he counts the dead bodies of the riot victims like vote multipliers!!! Has he done anything else for them…. Nothing substantial even though as Railway Minister he could have done something for them…… post riots did any of the RJD workers got to Gujarat to wipe the tears of those affected by the riots….. No???? Laloo says that Godhra was an accident and Modi says that the riots were a spontaneous reaction or mob frenzy on account of Godhra!!! Dekh tere insaan ki haalath kya ho gayee Bhagwan haiwan bann gaya insaan!!!

Budget preparation in Punjab … Amrinder way,
Party at night and sleep during the day!!!

Amrinder and Singla prepared the Budget in a novel way. First both of them partied for a week and then just before the Budget when the figures were ready Amrinder made 'parchis' or chits and then did 'eena meena minna mo' and picked up parchis and allocations were made on this basis…. one side parchis with amounts and the other side parchis with areas of allocation!! Amrinder says that this his way of being totally unbiased!!!! Singla of course follows the HMV principle…… His Master's Vices!!!! Singla's family is worried about him…. he's developed Raja's style…… has bloody mary as bed tea…. has breakfast in tub with beer……. has become a glut …… and what hurts them the most is that now he wants to be addressed as Raja Sahib or His Majesty at home!!!
