The technical work of Social statistics Division (SSD) is being supervised by an IAS Additional Secretary instead of an ADG level officer of Indian Statistical Service (ISS). This is yet another example of highjacking the statistical work by a generalist officer of non technical service. Are regional considerations are more important than logical ones ? Is the Minister incharge ( MOS) aware of this illogical distribution of work ?
