In fact Ms Reva Nayyar and Santosh Nautiyal retire the same day- 31st July. 1968 batch Orissa cadre IAS officer, Nautiyal, is presently Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India. He is number two in the seniority list when B K Chaturvedi retires. Incidently, there is no taker of Nautiyal in the bureaucratic circles. One thing, however, can be mentioned that Deepak Chatterjee was number one in the seniority list when Kamal Pande was shifted two years ago and number two B K Chaturvedi was picked up.

No panel of Additional Secretaries !

Cabinet Secretary had issued letters to all the Secretaries to the Government of India sometime ago for giving the nominations of officers of all services who are eligible for empanelment as Additional Secretaries to the Government of India. All these details were sent to the Cabinet Secretary by different Secretaries in respect of all the organised services. Even though a period of more than three months have passed no panel of Additional Secretaries has been announced by the Cabinet Secretary in respect of non IAS officers . Strangely the panel sent for IAS officers are being declared on a regular basis . Why is cabinet Secretary so much against non IAS officers ? Will the Prime Minister intervene in the matter and look into this ?
