MP Tourism Corporation bags SATTE award

Madhya Pradesh Tourism was awarded the Samsung SATTE award for "taking tourism development to new heights" during the just concluded exposition of the South Asian Travel Tourism Exchange at New Delhi. The only award to a state government was handed over to MD Ashwani Lohani by Ambika Soni, the union minister for tourism & culture. Admiral SM Nanda:

For well known traditional reasons, the Indian Navy was the Senior Service till 26 Jan 1950, all the way on from its 'official' foundation date of 05 Sep 1612. Our indigenous maritime tradition too, of course has much older firmware, mention of which is made in the book ' Under Two Ensigns ' - right to circa 1700 - 2500 BC. Later Shivaji, was a firm believer in the doctrine 'Jalam Jasya Valaiam Tasya ' ie ' He who rules the seas is all powerful.' Shivaji's Maratha Fleet Commander Admiral Khanoji Angre was in this fine tradition. We may not be able to further honour this 18th century Lion of the Sea [ or we may yet be able to do more in some manner - renaming a port city perhaps ? ] In more recent IN history a very firm and decisive sweep and strike to dominate the Indian Ocean was made in 1971. The Admiral who did us proud must of course get overdue Admiral of the Indian Fleet recognition. Come to think of it, better late than never: Field Marshal Manekshaw in his Foreword to the Book 'Battle Honours of the Indian Army' by Major Sarbans Singh PSC forcefully reminds us that the Royal Navy was awarded the Battle Honour 'Armada 1588' in 1954 and the British Army got the Battle Honour "Tangier 1662 - 1680' in 1909 ! Doing an Honour is never too late, in good grace. Let us not be found wanting in recognising our silent service.

Your article ought to be more forceful in expressing the very serious Naval sentiments.

Admiral SM Nanda is the only Naval Officer deserving to be honoured as the First Admiral of the Fleet of the Indian Navy.

Under his outstanding leadership, it was the Naval Effort of Admiral Nanda that projected the importance of the Navy and its power - and brought it "home" and burnt it into the "conciousness" of the nation and its politicians - that made the Navy proud.

In the knowledgeable Naval and Maritime circles of a maritime nation like the United Kindom, it was often remarked that - "Had the control of the sea during the Bangladesh war not been so totally with the Indian Navy, we would have liked to see what the outcome of this war would have been!!!???"

Is Admiral Nanda a role model ?
While I do agree with Admiral Nanda's contributions as Naval Chief, lot of the sheen has gone away with his kin/family using his pre eminence to wangle Defence contracts etc. Also the BMW hit & run case has been covered up. With the evidence one has seen in the media, can Admiral not influence his grand son to own up guilt. He has been an inspiration to many sailors, but can't he influence the grand son or is it that blood is thicker than water.But Admiral Nanda has been an excellent officer; is he a role model???

It was painful to go through the proposal mooted by your website. Nanda is not recognised or remembered for what he achieved during his entire career but for mega billion defence deals his family swings thanks to his appropriate connections in the corridors of power. "That's terrible!" the priest exclaimed, "but I have a solution to your problem. Bring your two female parrots over to my house and I will put them with my two male talking parrots whom I have taught to pray and read the bible. My parrots will teach your parrots to stop saying that terrible phrase and your female parrots will learn the joys of praise and worship."

"Thank you!" the woman responded.

The next day the woman brings her female parrots to the priest's house. His two male parrots are holding the rosary beads and praying in their cage. The lady puts her two female parrots in with the male parrots and the female parrots say "Hi we're prostitutes, want to have some fun?"

One male parrot looks over at the other male parrot and exclaims, "Put the beads away, brother. Our prayers have been answered!"

Inflation is going up and up….. nothing seems to be working to bring it down,
With all the buttons karr liya Sarkar ne clown!!!

Inflation cannot be brought down overnight,
On its having a cascading effect never loose sight!!!

But in this case inflation has also risen because some Ministers fuelled it,
With the inflation causers they chose to sit!!

It's alleged that Pawar and Kamalnath are two such Ministers,
They say their actions have caused inflationary pains to their Indian brothers and sisters!

Seems the good Doctor has given a clean chit to inflation too!!!
But then what can the poor fellow do!!!

Some say that his caretaker term or Regency is now coming to an end,
After all for Rahul karr raha hai Manmohan Prime Ministership tend!!!

Maybe they'll make him the President ,
And in 7 Race Course there could be a new resident!!!

But I feel Manmohan will complete his term,
Though quite a few are trying ki into Manmohan's chair apna way karre worm!!!

Will Sonia want to become PM when UPA is touching new lows harr dinn???
