FORUM Display details It is high time that cadre controlling authorities display details
of immoveable assets/properties, updated compulsorily annually, alongwith
submission of CRs, for all government officials, whether belonging to
AIS or Central Services. This should be displayed along with the respective
Civil Lists on concerned websites of the Department. Though this move
is there on paper, it has been pursued half-heartedly for reasons best
known to authorities themselves ! This would enable general public as
also batch mates to keep an eye on the sudden turn in fortunes of colleagues
and would also bind the officer to the declarations made. Please pursue
this if you want transparency in public life and do not want Rats to
eat up the Public Granaries from within ! Present retirement age of 60 is sufficient Retirement Age should be as per the performance of the employee and
the requirements of the organization concerned. I think at present the
retirement age of 60 years is adequate as it gives ample opportunity
to the seniors to prove their worth and the proper chance for the juniors
to show their mettle. Unless the oldies vacate the positions how can
younger lot occupy the seats. Moreover, it is said that you can not
teach old horses new tricks. So, no further years should be given to
the current oldies who are mainly responsible for the rot of the system.
Remember only " Mera Bharat Jawan can lead to Mera Bharat Mahan" Retirement age should be reduced I fully agree with Mrs Raghvan. Retirement age should be reduced to
58 years so that all the young men get jobs. Given the option , no one
in government from cabinet secratary to a peon would ever like to retire
and want their children to get compassionate appointment for dying while
in service. Retirement age should be reduced to 55 There is a strong case to reduce retirement age to 58 years or even
55 years in view of the mess created by government servants as a whole
.There may be some ineffective exeptions. When government cannot create
jobs for the young ,it has no business to raise retirement age irrespective
of increase in life expectancy. What is the latest ? There was a news on this site that the retirement age of the central
government employees is being raised to 62 years and the orders shall
be issued in March 2007. Now April is coming to end but no orders. Please
intimate the latest news in this regard There should be crash course on bribery It is quite clear that Rakesh Mohan like many others of his type must
have been minting money soon after joining government service. Otherwise
he could not have suddenly invented novel ways of accepting bribe by
way of an apartment in USA. Infact, there is an urgent need to organise
a crash course on how to accept bribe without getting caught so that
peoples faith in honesty and integrity of government servants is maintained. IPS officers in Assam need not lose heart -see Bihar ! IPS officers in Assam need not lose heart. Officers of even the 1977
