Political Perks or Unholy Gravy!!
Col Satish Dhawan has done well to expose the rot in the system. India, and Indians down the ages, had always been known for its spirit of "service before self". Now it is just the reverse - fill your own pockets and damn the rest. The current situation is like "Ulta Chor, Kotwal (public) ko daante"!!
The sad part is that even after these hefty hikes, there is NO delivery and for everyone, other than politicians, rules are enforced rigidly. Advice to politicians is, "healer heal thyself, before healing others".
Nothing can justify such lavish & ostentatious lifestyles - even lowly MLAs have black cat commandos (bigger the ego, more the number) jumping out of illegally-tinted glass vehicles to impress the public, even when threat is non-existent. All this, when law & order and public safety is on the decline all around, reflects self gratification rather than service. Even the British PM (with an ever present threat) does not have so many pilot vehicles, and commandos, hanging around.
How long can the nation tolerate such lavishness?

Ch KS Sindhu

Dear Sir,
You have recently posted the salary structure and the perks enjoyed by the politicians. I beg to differ from others who say that these "non-working MP's" don't deserve these facilities.
Had this been a lucrative and attractive profession by this time, the younger generation who is hungry for money, name and fame must have ventured into political arena. But till today we are yet to make politics appealing to the youngsters. Be it a Member of Parliament or an MLA or a people's representative, a common person feels free to approach in his times of joy or sorrow. A politician is the one who travels miles and miles together to interact with his/her people who trust him/her. Politics in India is not a profession. It is service to nation by serving people. Do you want that the elected representatives should pay from their own pocket while they travel to their constituency or when they travel to Delhi. This is unreasonable. A Member of Parliament represents on an average 7-8 lakh voters (atleast). Outer Delhi constituency being the largest (around 30 lakh voters). So in order to give the masses a humanistic touch to the governmental process, they have to communicate , travel all along their life. If they will not interact on this level then the systematic red tapism will fill anguish and hatred in the minds of poor villagers and farmers. Till today, none of the systematic structures of Government has been able to win the confidence of people be it Judiciary, Police or for that matter take any government department. The thought process that MPs are getting huge salary for no reason is not healthy for the democratic structure of this huge country. For becoming a MP a politician has to put all his life into political sphere. He does not have a personal life. After years of struggle inside the party hierarchy and serving the people so that his credibility is mentioned one gets a ticket. After good luck and intense campaigning he/she is able to come victorious. By this time one already has sold one's property. So he is left with nothing else. This is in case he comes victorious. After victory one is duly given the infrastructure and maintainance by the government. It is quite easy to point fingers at others. But are we ready to introspect ourselves? No. because the day we dare to do that finger will be towards us.
In my opinion, the humanity drives these politicians to come to public life.
Just because few of them are not worthy of being there in the Parliament should send enough challenge for us to mend the system.
You name any of the youngster politician whether Rahul Gandhi, Milind Deora, Jyotiradiya, Manvendra Singh, Jitin Prasad, Junior Hooda, Sangeeta Singh Deo, Varun Gandhi or Dushyant Singh, they all have political background. They are into it because they cannot do anything else in this country. They cannot be selling something since their parents are/were CMs, Ministers. It will hurt their ego.
I leave the question unanswered and asking for opinion/suggestion how much money should be pumped in more in the salary structure of MPs, MLAs so that it becomes attractive enough for today's youth?

There is no Col Dhawan

I can bet my last shirt on this !!! There's no Col Dhawan, live or dead, who's writing all those teasers and getting people climb on each other's necks!! If there's one, can you get his mug shot on the portal !! Lets wait for your reactions, gentlemen !!!
desilocal

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Now NDA and UPA have to ensure that there are no vote leaks!!!
There'll be a lot of enticing going on as campaigning peaks!!!

Has Karat ultimately lost it…. didn't he stress for a political President????
However on VP he sounds repentant!!

Says VP should not be political…… chinaman from Karat the CPI(M)'s head!!!
And he'd like the VPs' post to go to one of his 'apolitical' flunkies ….a plainclothed Red!!

UNPA has decided not to Vote……. what a sham!!!
This announcement was made by Jaya Madam!!

Shouldn't the UNPA MLAs and MPs be voting as reps of their electorate!!!
Dekho in the name of Democracy what we the people have to tolerate???

When Pratibha Patil is sworn in every Indian's head will bow in shame!!
She'll be Indian's first President of ill fame!!

And now get ready for games for 'electing a VP' whose suitable!!!
No longer are the considerations unbiased, blotless and able!!

Now one of the Glasgow bombing accused wife is petitioning PM to come to her hubby's aid!
Don't know why ' I know what it feels like to be a terrorist' statement by PM was made???
There's no chance that he faced any such situation!!!
Seems for political purposes this was Manmohan's mental creation!!!

To Manmohan's reservation demand in the Private Sector the Private Sector has said no!
Now Manmohan is questioning to the Private Sector money ka flow!!

Congress can try to press every button to appease but Public sabh kuch hai jaanthi!!!
Aur aise chonchlo se Public nahi hai maanthi!!!

After UP many thought Congress would have learned a lesson!!!
And this appeasement would lessen!!!

As India's Agriculture Minister he's been one big flop and many scams have come to light!!!
But nothing further…. what's the secret of Pawar's might???

Yes he has friends in every Political Party… and they say he scratches a lot of backs!!!
When there are exposés on him dosts rush to scratch his back and there are no attacks!!!

Otherwise how do you explain that a Minister whose run India's agri Sector into the ground???
Is still very much around!!!

Why has Laloo given a clean chit to the DIG accused in a molestation case????
And who is he to do so in the first place????

He's not the law…… in fact when it comes to law he himself is under a cloud!!!
Someone should tell that he does not become innocent by talking loud!!!

In talking loud Laloo's sidekick Raghuvansh Prasad takes the cake!!!
When he speaks the walls start to quake!!!

Renuka aka The Joker is back in the pack!!!!
She was taken out so that on the Presidential election BJP ko karre attack!!!

Hello Hello Renuka Ji jhoot matt bolon ….. Sonia's not going to Protect you in His Darbaar!!!
And hope you know ke jhoot bolne waalon ko in His Darbaar padthi hai bahut maar!!!

They say Sonia's going to shuffle the Cabinet end July… it'll be a big one!!
Lets see if she gives a berth to her son????

But aren't Ministers in Cabinet on PM's pleasure… its PM's prerogative???
On this PM's given himself and Sonia clean chit..... says he's being creative!!!

Rather than running to and fro to get Sonia's approval he's letting her shuffle the pack!!!
Though his detractors say authority to shuffle Manmohan karta hai lack!!!

WANTED Amar Singh…….. long time not read his statements or seen him on TV!!!
Some say he's now dedicating more time to his daughters and Biwi!!!

Without Amar Indian Political scene is bland…. ekdum feeka!!!
Amar Singh makes things theekha!!!

Some say Big B and Amar ki dosti mein abh nahi hai woh poorana dumm!!
Laghtaa hai pyaar ho gaya hai kumm!!!

Maybe Amar will latch on to a new Bollywood Star!!!
He'll strike a friendship by gifting the Star his Phantom Car!!!

Yes the one parked in Jalsa.... which as per records belongs to him!!!
So he can gift it as per his whim!!!
