Dhingra appointed CMD HUDCO
KL Dhingra, presently Director (Finance), Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation Limited, has been appointed as Chairman and Managing Director, Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO). Dhingra will be holding the new charge for a period of five years or till he attains the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier.

Bharat writes well but---

Bharat writes well. My compliments. But let us not berate Sanjay's case. If we think of the 90's and the state of law and order in Bombay when Dawood and Salim ruled the Bollywood, to ensure safety for his father and sisters and for himself Sanjay took these steps and unfortunately he was caught and many others escaped. Courts have to take a humane view and also should condemn the law and order authorities who must take their blame. Though ignorance of law is no excuse but law can not be applied blind-folded.

Why do not CSS officers feel happy ?
This is apropos 'Woes of CSS'. Will somebody tell the gentleman and his likes that their main problem lies somewhere else. They have a misplaced notion of kinship with IAS and other Group 'A' Services. Better for them not to act superior to their Bara Bhais - the DR Assistants and work for the common good. And one more thing - the entry level of CSS is DR Assistant and not those who sat for competition for the IAS and ended up being Section Officers. Why don't they just keep the consolation prize and be happy with it?

Why every service seeks parity with IAS ?
The suggestions provided by SK Sharma for providing the CSS and the IAS same footing were interesting and mind churning and the justification advanced was apparently this that these two services basically do the same work at the centre. I fail to understand as to why every service seeks parity with the IAS by extending some weird logics all the time. Every service has some assets and some liabilities and even the IAS is not an exception. Rather than nurturing IAS-phobia the members of all the services should try to excel wherever they are. Only then can the country march ahead. As for Sharma I can only say that an IAS officer has expertise in and exposure of not only secretarial work but field also, not only matters pertaining to central and concurrent list but state list also and that probably puts them in different league altogether.

Everybody has a right to grow
The issues raised by S K Sharma regarding the plight of CSS officers
is OK. But it is sad that he forgets that everyone in this system has a
right to grow and get his due either he is recruited as a clerk or as an
IAS officer. The issue to be raised is timely promotion, growth &
recognition to every section of Indian Bureaucracy

My comment is out of context to the news item.

But the word Honesty calls for some comments in general terms: definition of honesty has been evolving over years in government organisations. Now, it is that those who only take a fixed % without arm twisting as per the system are honest. Those who take % as they want are super efficient/practical official. Those who falls outside the above are either don't have opportunity or don't have guts or impractical fool.

The lead role has been played by King Khan of the Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. Significantly this film strikes against political interference on the horizon of Indian sports both in the play field and out side the play field. Its a real tribute to those who espoused, survived & thrived only for the game of Hockey, till middle of 1985.
