Top Police officials gets extension in Maharashtra

After a tug of war Maharashtra Government has succeeded in getting three months extension in service to Director General of Police (DGP) P.S. Pasricha and Mumbai Police Commissioner D.N. Jadhav. They were to retire on Friday.

Vice Admiral Dilip Deshpande is CWPA

Vice Admiral Dilip Deshpande, AVSM, VSM has assumed the charge as Controller of Warship Production and Acquisition(CWPA) in the Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) . Vice Admiral Dilip Deshpande was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 19 Sep 1969. He underwent Marine Engineering conversion course at INS Shivaji, Lonavla and the Air Engineering conversion course at Air Force Technical Collage, Bangalore. The admiral was awarded Gold medal for best thesis on the subject of Management of Technologies while undergoing Naval Higher Command Course at National Defence Collage. The admiral has had number of important assignment as Air Engineering and Marine Engineer which included the appointment of Admiral Superintendent of the Naval Dockyard at Visakhapatnam. He was Assistant Chief of Material (Dockyard & Refits) prior to taking up the present appointment.

Vice Admiral B.S.randhawa assumes new charge

Vice Admiral Birinder Singh Randhawa, AVSM VSM has assumed the charge of Chief of Material in Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) . The post fell vacant on supernnuation of Vice Admiral D.S.P. Verma.Vice Admiral Randhawa is an alumni of the National Defence Academy. He was commissioned on Jan 1,1969. He graduated in Marine Engineering from the Naval Collage of Engineering and completed post-graduation from the Royal Naval Engineering College, UK, in the same discipline. The admiral is the senior most technical officer of the Indian Navy and held a number of important assignments both at sea and ashore. He was Controller Warship Production & Acquisition, prior to taking up the present assignment.

Air Marshal K.M. Sundara assumes new charge

Air Marshal K.M. Sundara AVSM VSM took over as Air Officer-in-charge Maintenance at Air Headquarters, New Delhi, responsible for Maintenance Management of all Weapon Systems and Equipment of IAF, on Dec 1,2007.Air Marshal Rama Sundara is an Electrical Engineering graduate from MC Hassan, Karnataka.The Air Marshal has a rich and varied experience in various facets of the maintenance organization in the IAF ranging from fighter aircraft to the ground based communication systems. He was involved in induction of MiG-23 and MiG-29 aircraft into Indian Air Force and setting up of the MiG-29 overhaul facilities. He has worked as the Chief Engineering Officer at Air Force Station Kalaikonda besides commanding Air Force Station Sulur. For his distinguished service, Air Marshal Rama Sundara was conferred the Vishisht Seva Medal in 1994 and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in year 2006 by the President of India.Born in year 1950, Air Marshal Rama Sundara is married to Nalini, who hold Masters Degree in Physics and trained Teacher.

In a minor change in charge of two IRS officers the Central Government shifted R.K.Jain(1983 batch) CIT VIII Chennai to CIT(LTU) Chennai.Similarly,Pramod Kumar (1986 batch)CIT(A) III Chennai was shifted as CIT (A)(LTU) Chennai.

The first ever Rubber wood solid wood board manufacturing factory ( Tripura Rubber wood factory) in the forestry sector with latest state of art imported machineries is operational now. was inaugurated by the Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar recently. Tripura Forest Development and Plantation Corporation Ltd is first state in the north east to promote the use of eco-friendly rubber wood. The Corporation had won two awards for the sustainable forest management and had set an example how to convert the forests for the better human use. The Forest Minister Jitendra Chaudhury inaugurated the "Unakoti Crafts and Furniture " a subsidiary of the corporation engaged in promoting export of world class rubber wood furniture. The Corporation had tied up with a Singapore based firm to export the Rubber based Products to Europe and USA

OMC Bagged ISO :14001 Certification

Orissa Mining Corporation (OMC) , the largest State Public Sector Undertaking (SPSU) in the country in Mining sector with a turn over of Rs.1000 crore , has bagged the ISO :14001, 2004. Certification for Environment management System (EMS) in its Daitari Iron Ore Project, Chrome Ore Beneficiation Plant and Operating Mines of Chrome Zone in the Sukinda valley. OMC is the first PSU in the country to bag the prestigious ISO 14001certification,which was received by its Chairman and Steel and Mines Secretary, U P Singh.
