Bharat Kumar -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DGCA's notice to Jet Airways & Kingfisher Airlines The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a show cause notice to Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines asking them as to why action should not be initiated against them the Aircraft Rules, 1937, for not furnishing the details of the charged tax components in their domestic airline tickets, as this was in violation of the conditions for operations annexed to the permit to operate scheduled air transport services(SATS).It may be recalled that the Government had on December 4,2007 asked all airlines to clarify about tax components being charged in their tickets. They had also been asked to provide confirmation whether all the taxes shown by them in their tickets/website had been deposited with the Government. Since the said two airlines had not replied to the DGCA , a show cause notice was issued to them. The reply of the airlines have to reach the office of the DGCA by January 4, 2008, failing which action as deemed fit would be taken against them. NALCO to invest Rs.409 crore Nalco Aluminium Company Ltd., (NALCO) Board has decided to ehance Alumina Refinery Capacity from 21 lakh tonnes to 22.75 lakh tonnes by upgrading its 4th stream from 5.25 lakh tonnes to seven lakh tonnes . Correspondingly the company will also expand its bauxite mines capacity for 63 lakh tonnes to 68.25 lakh tonnes with an ivestment of Rs.409.07 crores to be completed within 35 months. POLIF & RPOLIF to be managed by UTI MF & SBI MF Post Office Life Insurance Fund (POLIF) and Rural Post Office 8/Life Insurance Fund (RPOLIF) will be managed now by UTI MF and SBI MF , a move that could lead to investment of the sum into the booming capital market.The decision to appoint the fund managers for Post Office Life Insurance Fund (POLIF) and Rural Post Office Life Insurance Fund (RPOLIF) was taken by the Union Cabinet. PSU fund managers are expected "to follow safe and conservative investment policies" for the money raised largely from rural areas.
