My choice is-Ms Alka Sirohi

My choice is Ms. Alka Sirohi, currently in the Consumer Affairs Ministry in the Union Government. I have had a lot of chance to interact with her on the misleading advertisements issue, which is an initiative, being driven by her Ministry. Ms. Sirohi sets an example for other officers all over the country and her qualities of sincerity, probity and dedication are worth appreciating. I wish to use this forum to congratulate her. May her tribe increase!

No parity in promotion of IFS officers

Government of India (GOI) had given parity to the Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers with the Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. However because of the non-availability of posts at various levels the carrier progression of the IFS officers was not moving with desired manner. Skewed recruitments in the forest service between 1982 to 1990 led to discrimination in promotion at the state level. In case of police service, the officers have already been granted high scales in a time bound manner through the creation of ex-cadre posts. The officers of the Indian Forest Service have been languishing at same place for years without promotion due to non-creation of posts in the Ex-cadre. The central government has now directed the Jammu and Kashmir government that all officers of IFS be prompted in a time bound manner. In a DO letter the Central Minister of Environment and Forest has given clear instruction to the Chief Minister of the Jammu and Kashmir that guidelines issued by the central government in this regard be followed in latter and spirit, so that the larger interests of conservation of forestry and wildlife research of the country is ensured. Central government has also directed the state government that all the formalities be completed in six-month advance for a particular batch that is going to be promoted by the creation of required numbers of posts in the ex-cadres so that all the officers of the batch are promoted in one ago. It has also been mentioned in the DO latter that all irregularities that have been committed during the past should be set right. Non availability of the posts will not be a hindrance in the promotion of an officer, who has completed minimum required numbers of the years for that post , as it be now mandatory for the government to create post for him in the ex-cadre . The state government has also been directed to fulfill the state deputation reserve and central deputation officers in the states and union territories. The minimum year of service has been fixed for the CF, CCF and additional PCCF as 14, 18 and 25 years respectively. It is pertinent to mention here that the Union Minister for Forest, K Raja has written this letter directly to the Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad and desired that no violation of these guidelines shall take place and the IFS officers be promoted in a time bound manner as per the guide lines issued by the Government of India in this regard.

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Government is trying to bring the prices of onions down,
With his charge Pawar continues to clown!!!

Government has increased the floor price for exports! This year an additional 2,00,000 tons of onions have been already exported!! But its too late...... the prices are going to remain buoyant as damage has already been done!!! And point to be noted is that the Farmer is still getting a pittance for his produce of onions….. so Pawar has not only let the Farmers down but he's also let the Aam Aadmi down!!! Shouldn't the Government be looking at the intermediate costs that actually cause onion prices to literally go up many times????

Congress really needs to pull up its socks…… needs to take a reality check,
And needs to reman the UP Deck!!!

Congress must remember that when it comes to anti incumbency against UPA it'll be Congress that will carry the cross!!! And that is exactly what is happening!!!Congress is going to loose Punjab ….. Uttrakhand is up for grabs and in UP Congress has not improved its position as of now!!!! If Congress wants to make a dent in the UP elections it must fight this election like it were an MC Poll…… here Congress can use the same Government in Centre and State USP!!! Using this in Punjab was wrong as for a good three years this combination existed and nothing great happened for Punjab!!! My guess is that BJP is going to do better than expected in UP…. unless it shoots itself in the foot, which we have seen happen so many times because of the internal squabbles in BJP!!!!

CNN IBN and NDTV are hoping , vainly, that Amrinder will win,
If they went about in Punjab's villages that even taking his name is taken as a sin!!!!

IBN did a survey some time back and with a sample of just 1000 voters predicted the outcome of the Punjab Poll…….. IBN stands for Is Biased in its News !!! NDTV is doing an Insta Poll , they've even applied for a Patent for this Poll….. being an exit poll it should be more accurate….. however here too NDTV's bias and lack of ability to go into the hinterland would cause NDTV to be inaccurate..... predict a lower victory margin for Akalis !! These are Page 3 News Channels and gel with Amrinder !!!! NDTV did Follow the Leader and in Badal's case spent more time photographing the curios and paintings in his house!!! Akalis will win and IBN, that predicted a victory for Amrinder, will eat crow…… but as there is no accountability for surveys and an in built 3% error factor excuse, CNN IBN expects you to forget their survey and prediction pronto!!!!

Amrinder says that he's going into battle to win,
And Punjab Voter is going to Vote to put Amrinder into the waste bin!!!

Amrinder starts his day with scrambled eggs and that is exactly what he's done to Congress's fortunes in Punjab!!! His haughtiness and inaccessibility has gone down very badly with Punjabis!!! His rattling figures has also been his undoing…… because of the huge gap between his kathni and karni!!! He's got the Punjab Police to brutally quell any protests against his policies or inactions!!! And Amrinder says that for quite sometime he's not got the time to take a walk….. well now very soon he's going to get all the time to walk…. though my guess is he's going to do a lot of running……… ujala ho gayi
nagri mein jabb bhaag gaya Raja, Voter ne bajaa diya Raje ka band baaja!!!

Laloo's Saas and Sasoor caught traveling ticket-less…. real shame,
Of course on something or someone Laloo will shift the blame!!!

When son in law is the Railways Minister seems the in-laws have taken the Railways as ghar ki kheti!!! The Platform that Rajdhani arrives on Patna Station is decided by Laloo's Saalas and now Rabdi's parents have been caught as ticket-less travelers!!! Hope the IIM Ahmedabad and the Ivy League students take these facts into consideration while writing their thesis on Railway's success!!! Laloo's got the hide of a rhino so he's going to tut-tut this and put the blame on the TT who caught them or the person manning the ticket window where they boarded the train or he might just say that the the ticket were with somebody elese and in a hurry the couple forgot to take the tickets and then via some clever back-dating, lo and behold, the couple's tickets will be produced!!!

Valentines Day is one big farce……. for true lovers everyday is Valentines day,
Because in your heart your love hamesha karta/karti hai stay!!!

What's so special on Valentines Day???? It's a day invented by a Card Company and fuelled by Companies marketing gifts!!! And Valentines day just like Mother's Day and Father's Day does not go with our sabyathaa!!! Valentine's Day is for infatuations and passing affairs……. the cards and gifts and not love is what matters!!! In Indian culture there can be no true love without sacrifice be it your Mom, Dad or Partner…. and cards and gifts are a way to say sorry for the element of sacrifice being missing in one's love..... and we are not sons or lovers just for a day!!!!
