Jhumpa in "The Namesake"

The Pultizer recipient and the noted contemporary Indian American (Bengali) author based in America, Ms.Jhumpa Lahiri, has made a screen debut in a film titled "The Namesake" as Jhumpa Massi. The film slated for release next month is based on the above mentioned maiden novel authored by Jhumpa Lahiri in 2003. It was directed by Mira Nair of the "Monsoon Wedding" fame. The main role has been played by famous Bollywood actress Tabu. It is worth mentioning that Jhumpa Lahiri had bagged the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in the year 2000,on her debut collection, "Interpreter of Maladies". The film "The Namesake" -is the story of an ABCD (American Born Confused Desi) who wants to fit in among his fellow Bostonians despite his family's unwillingness to let go of their traditional ways. It was widely hailed during film festivals in Toronto and Rome. It's screenplay was adapted from the novel by Ms.Sooni Taraporevala-the famous screenwriter and photographer.

Congress needs to introspect,
Maharashtra mein logon ne kyon Congress ko kiya reject????

The primary reason is the spurt in prices!!!!! Ironically Pawar is solely responsible for the price rise but Congress is taking the fall!!!! Also Congressmen are experts in undermining their own Party to achieve their personal objectives!!! Imagine Shiv Sena faced huge anti incumbency in the Mumbai Civic Elections, Raj's shifting out also caused a loss in votes and still SS and BJP combine came out tops!!! Seems the anti incumbency against the UPA Sarkaar was much more than the SS and BJP combine's anti incumbency!!!

After so many years in power Laloo has become a hardcore elitist,
And a rustic conversationalist !!

Just one look at Laloo and his family and one realizes how much has changed!!! Laloo is more worried about getting kudos from IIMs and Foreign Universities rather than from his electorate!!! He had an OSD , Official on Sounding Duty, who blew the trumpet about Laloo's so called achievements in the Railways all over the World. But students from India and abroad who came to listen to Laloo have gone back dissatisfied because he's not been able to give a satisfactory response to the question, ' If you claim to be such a successful Railway Minister why were you such a flop Chief Minister???' Laloo has lost his touch with the India he grew up in and which is his constituency….. he only retains the rustic sense of humour!!!

Dinesh Yadav is alleged to have admonished Payal's Dad who had gone to register a complaint against Moninder that he was trying to tarnish the image of a honourable person, that is Moninder!!! And phone records show the close contact Yadav kept with Shivpal, Mulayam's ' aisi chotti si bathe hothis rehathi hai' fame bro….Shivpal says that it is a matter of protocol that the calls were made……. Shivpal is not the Home Minister so what protocol was Yadav following???? And he's the only Cop who was posted in Noida whose escaped suspension!!! What protocol is SP following for not suspending this Cop???

During his campaigning Amrinder is on a Pizza and Diet Coke diet,
Cocktails and dinner when he returns to Moti Bagh at night!!

As other politicians partake meals with the locals, Amrinder maintains a distance when it comes to sharing meals with the common man!!! He does not drink tea or water and lives on Diet Coke…… he does not drink water because he knows the poor condition of water in villages!!! A villager seeing him eat pizzas commented ' Fokki double-roti kha ke eh bhi foka ho gaya hai!!!! And his 'Cutlery' is so sick of Pizzas that many of them slip away the minute he asks for his Pizza!!! Andher nagri chaupat CM who thinks he's a King, to the hungry aam Punjabi his culinary habits sure do sting!!!

Ginger, onion and garlic prices have shot up,
Without these aam aadmi will have to sup!!!

Exports are making prices shoot up……… and for this we have to thank Pawar!!! And somehow Congress seems to be least perturbed …… funny because Pawar may be responsible for the price rise but the blame is at Congress's doorstep!!! Sonia ji samjho isshaare, Aaam Aadmi pukaare ke prices karro kumm!!!
