Secretary level changes are expected to take place in the Government of India this week.

Who will be the lucky 1974 batch IAS officials?

Who will be the lucky 1974 batch IAS officials? This question is being discussed in view of the fact that of the 54 Additional secretaries, only 35 to 40 are to be empanelled as secretary this week.

Unprecendented in bureaucratic history
Posting of all the 1973 batch IAS officers to the post of Special secretary in one go is something that is said to be unprecedented in the history of bureaucracy. Why is it so?

All but one empanelled
All the 1973 batch IAS officers, except one, have been appointed to the post of Special Secretary in the Government of India. The one left out is V S Sampath who is presently posted in Hyderabad. Is there any specific reason behind it?

Shinde everybody on tenterhooks

Indian Energy Minister.Sushil Kumar Shinde's situation is just like Maharishi Vishwamitra while contenders for the Power Secretary's post are like "apsaras".Everybody is on tenterhooks as naming new Secretary Power in the Indian Government is concerned.Reason for this is not far to seek as Shinde has been maintaining a stoic silence in this regard.Neither any IAS nor any technocrat can claim to have made it to the coveted post of Secretary Power.Keep guessing till a final decision is taken by Delhi in this regard.

1979 batch IAS officers, presently in IIM Ahemdabad, are these days appreciating the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi a lot. He recently hosted a dinner for the entire 1979 batch IAS officers and personally interacted with each and every official. The officials were also provided gifts.

Empanelment of 1974 batch IPS officers to the rank of Additional Secretary in the Government of India is expected to take place in a couple of weeks.

A Pattanayak has been empanelled to the rank of DG in the Government of India. He is 1973 batch IPS officer of Orissa cadre.

Batchmate of Ajit Jogi is Chhattisgarh Governor
Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi is very happy over the appointment of new Chhattisgarh Governor E S Laxminarsimhan. In fact, Jogi happens to be 1968 batch IPS naturally a batchmate of outgoing IB Chief Laxminarsimhan who is taking over as Governor on January 25.

Sharma to be CS of Jharkhand again
P P Sharma is expected to take over as Chief Secretary of Jharkhand on March 1.He is 1971 batch IAS officer .

Judges in MP High Court appointed
The President has appointed Justice Wajahat Ali Shah, Justice Aryendra Kumar Saxena, Justice Ram Kishore Gupta, Justice Ravi Shanker Jha, Ms. Justice Manjusha Namjoshi, and Justice Shyam Sunder Dwivedi, Additional Judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court as the Judges of the same High court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.

Boom time for TV programmes

The television scene in India during 2007 is poised to look better in interest of viewers.For instance With the launch of KBC-III by media Moghul Rupert Murdoch's "Star Plus"on Monday night was a real treat for television viewers.Hindi film's actor Shah Rukh Khan who is popularly dubbed as the "King Khan"had mesmerised viewers across the country.His personal touch had added spice to the TV game show. The famous English news channel of Middle East'Al Jazeera'will be beaming on the Indian territory through Kerala next month.Necessary spade work is already on.Likewise Zee TV of which head is Subhash Chandra ,is contemplating to launch a new channel for metros.Even Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network(SABTNL)is launching is Marathi channel,say sources in the management.

Six IAS probationers get posting in Gujarat

Six IAS probationers have been given postings as Assistant Collector in different districts in Gujarat. Gupta Rahul Babu Lalbhai has been appointed AC, Dahod, Ms Manisha Chandra, AC Gandhinagar and Rajendra Kumar AC Surendranagar.Others are Rajesh Manju at Palanpur in Banaskantha, Rajendra Beniwal at Visnagar in Himmatnagar and Shekhar Vidyarthi Amreli.

I disagree..i was waiting for the turn of Haryana. I would name M.L.Tayal(IAS 1976) as the super boss in the state. The man is driven,honest and dedicated to the cause of people. He bears loyalty to people of the state and that is why does not go along settling his personal accounts. He inspires and sets a good example.

To Akali Dal's submission EC simply could not say no!!!

DGP Virk has been a beneficiary to Amrinder's largesse so how can he be unbiased during the elections??? There were rumours that Virk had spoken to Amrinder about his game plan to assist Amrinder in the elections!! But there is a larger issue …… shouldn't this largesse to Virk be investigated by CBI!!! To get a Mega Project there are parameters to be complied with and as per allegations Virk and his brother do not meet any of the parameters….. or was there a 'quota' whereby certain applicants were granted Mega Licenses though they did not meet the Mega Project License parameters..... who else benefitted from the 'quid pro quid' quota???

But then what use would have a gaadi been to him when he used only a Helicopter to travel….. even for a hot step and hump distance!!!! And don't know why he's undervalued all his Properties in his recent declaration to EC!! Funny thing is that he overvalued Badal's assets when he made charges against Badals, but his own assets he's valuing these at 2002 prices!!! For all his woes now he's blaming the Akalis…… whereas truth is he is responsible for his woes!!! Health and education during his regime have suffered the most!! Farmers are up in arms against him!!! His Mega blunders are a loot!!!! Andher Nagri chaupat Mukhya Mantri, he was supposed to be State's and people's interests ka santri!!!

In the interview Amar Singh tires to deflect the blame for Nithari!! He talks of missing children all over India!! Now what answer will he have to the 40 skulls and 100 skeletons found in UP as per a report in today's newspapers??? Cure can only take place if the disease is diagnosed….. its evident from Amar Singh responses that all that SP is doing is deflecting blame and covering up matters so now its up to the CBI to come up with a diagnosis….. thereafter hopefully in UP there will be a Government that will go after the cause of this disease….. once the diagnosis is made hope cure durr (very far) takk jayega..... just like Amar's pet dialogue.... baath niklegi toh durr takk jayegi!!!

Pawar's continuance as Minister of Agriculture is like rubbing salt, laal mirchi, garam masala in Aam Admi's wounds!!! Save the common man from this nincompoop!!!
