It 's not correct
It isn't correct to say that only UP State has Cabinet Secretary.
The Chief Secretary of the state is also called as Cabinet Secretary.
T Ramachandru ,IAS
Indian Forest Service is IFS
Srivastava is quite right in saying that IFS is an All India
Service, well entrenched by now (39 years old). IFoS is used in LBS
Academy Mussoorie during Foundational Course (held for all the Services)
for limited purpose of drawing distinction between the officers of this
Service (AIS) and the Indian Foreign Service (Central Service) which
is limited to the duration of this common Course only. Use of the abreviation
IFoS thereafter for this All India Service is neither called for nor
would it be correct because the mention of State with year of allotment
i.e KK Gupta, IFS(HP:71), automatically signifies clear cut distinction
from the Indian Foreign Service which being a Central Service, the officer
belonging to this Service can only have his year of allotment (and not
the name of the State) suffixed to his nam.
K B Man
IFS means Indian Forest Service
I fully agree with Deepak Shrivastava s comments that IFS has been
shown as short form for Indian Forest Service at the time of its constitution
and it should not be changed as IFoS by some body at his sweet will.

Why this criticism ?
Those criticising Pratibha Patil for her remarks on 'purdah' are
either oblivious or intolerant of a glaring historical truth. It is
a fact of history that 'purdah' simply didn't exist in the pre-moslem
Indian society and became prevalent only to protect our women from the
lustful advances of those males who were either part of or closely aligned
with the State apparatus after the advent of the muslim rulers (mughals
as well as those who attacked and enslaved India prior to the mughals),.
This fact is borne out from historical accounts of Greeks dating back
to 3rd and 4th century BC right upto the 11th century account given
by Alberuni. Let us not communalise history by wishing away hard facts.
Let our moslem brethren also not react over sensitively. If a practice
that was perceived to be desirable or inevitable during the moslem rule
in India is considered a social evil today why should the moslem citizens
of the country today should feel guilty or even responsible for the
same. The spirit of what Pratibha Patil has said must be understood
properly. 'Purdah' came to indian society at a time when it was necessary
for the protection of women. Today that necessity no longer exists.
So give up purdah, don't continue with it. That's all she has said.
What is wrong or communal about it?

Calling by caste should be abolished
Calling by caste should be abolished and who calls a particular
man/women by his/her caste should be jailed. Those who stay in India
should be an INDIAN and he/she should abide the rule of the India and
not a particular caste's rule like MUSLIM's interpretation about their
own feeling about thier sisters and/or daughters. Be an Indian AND NOT
A Hindu or Muslim or Christan.
