Lady Luck may smile on Rahul Gandhi someday
When defeat stares it is natural to be irrationally, illogically unappreciative of what is obviously praiseworthy. The UP defeat has blinded all and sundry in the Congress. Everyone is despondent but truth should be permitted to prevail who worked for a Congress victory in UP ?.Did the Prime Minister or any bigwig in Congress hierarchy sweat it out in the dust and heat of UP?. And the one who did is surprisingly being given no due. Lady Luck however, did not smile on him and his party. The tides did not turn his way. But, it takes no time for luck to change. Rahul Rajiv Gandhi should bid for his time .It will surely come.

Additional list of 1977 batch IAS on the cards
An additional list comprising about eight names for the empanelment of 1977 batch IAS officers to the rank of Additional Secretary in the Government of India is on the cards. 48 officers of this batch have already been empanelled.

What is next in IRCTC ?

Can Indian Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav transfer Dr.P.K.Goyal Managing Director of Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC)? This question is hotly being discussed because Dr.Goyal was appointed after he was chosen by Public Sector Enterprises Board (PSEB)?However, in the past senior level officials who were sent on leave in the Railway Ministry, were later on served marching orders, during Mr.Lalu Prasad Yadav…s regime. It may be stated that Dr.Goyal in on forced leave as he had incurred the wrath of Indian Railway Minister.

Delay in deciding DG ASI

It is still unclear that who will be next Director (DG) of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) from June 1, 2007 as present DG, C. Babu Rajeev is retiring on May 31, 2007.There is a remote possibility of he being granted further extension. If no incumbent was finalized before his retirement then Additional DG Vijay S Madan will hold the charge as acting DG, ASI.In the past also such an arrangement was adopted, till appointment of a full timer was made.

This is just a stupidity.. who thinks IAS as superior to IpoS? IPoS are doing a great job. No IAS should be posted in Department of Post as they have no expertise.

It's sheer nonsense

Sheer nonsense. The so called Aryan IAS with superior presentation skills, able to stand up in their own group is pure myth. Barring hon'ble exceptions all IAS feed on the material placed by subordinates to rule over them. Generalists as they are, work through their old boy networks to get things done. Crack this network by putting more non-IAS in critical positions and it can be proved that IAS are hollow, within. These hordes are yet to be truly challenged, that's the problem.

Suggestion to post IAS is not logical

The arguments in favor of an IAS officer to be made Secretary - Department of Posts aren't convincing. In fact the IAS officers need not be made Secretaries in the other departments /Ministries of GoI also. Home Secretary should be an IPS, Defense Secretary from Army/AF/Navy, Finance Secretary from amongst the Revenue Service Officers or the academia and so on. For all practical purposes the IAS and the PCS belong to the same genre of bureaucracy. Therefore the IAS like their PCS counterparts should concentrate on their State cadres and should normally have no business to be in Delhi except as Liaison Officers or Resident Commissioners of their respective States. The IAS experiment as a bureaucratic replication of diarchy has failed and should be wound up. Sooner the better.

Who says India is largest democracy ?

It is claimed that we are world's largest democracy. False. It is all hypocrisy. We are living in LALU RAJ. He has all the knowledge to run cowsheds, stables and with the grace of coalition government we are bearing Ministers like Lalu. What knowledge and expertise he has in Catering and Tourism? Nothing. He has an OSD who is running the Railways. He is sacking the people who have the zeal and courage to show Railways the path of progress and prosperity. Dr. Goel is not forced on leave because of his lack of competence but because of his speed. The Minister and his OSD could not digest the working capacity of a Railway Officer. Result, Dr Goel is without work. IRCTC is headless and we are discussing the matter on Board. Thank You !

A BRILLIANT SENIOR MOMENT !!

A 98 year old woman wrote this to her bank. The bank manager thought it
amusing enough to have it published in the New York Times.

Dear Sir:

I am writing to thank you for bouncing my check with which I endeavored to
pay my plumber last month. By my calculations, three 'nanoseconds' must
have elapsed between his presenting the check and the arrival in my account
of the funds needed to honor it. I refer, of course, to the automatic
monthly deposit of my entire salary, an arrangement which, I admit, has
been in place for only eight years.

You are to be commended for seizing that brief window of opportunity, and
also for debiting my account $30 by way of penalty for the inconvenience
caused to your bank.

My thankfulness springs from the manner in which this incident has ..
caused me to rethink my errant financial ways.

I noticed that whereas I personally attend to your telephone calls and
letters, when I try to contact you, I am confronted by the impersonal,
overcharging, pre-recorded, faceless entity which your bank has become.

From now on, I, like you, choose only to deal with a flesh-and-blood
person. My mortgage and loan payments will therefore and hereafter no
longer be automatic, but will arrive at your bank by check, addressed
personally and confidentially to an employee at your bank whom you must
nominate. Be aware that it is an offense under the Postal Act for any other
person to open such an envelope. Please find attached an Application
Contact Status which I require your chosen employee to complete. I am sorry
it runs to eight pages, but in order that I know as much about him or her
as your bank knows about me, there is no alternative. Please note that all
copies of his or her medical history must be countersigned by a Notary
Public, and the mandatory details of his/her financial situation (income,
debts, assets and liabilities) must be accompanied by documented proof.

In due course, I will issue your employee with a PIN number which he/she
must quote in dealings with me. I regret that it cannot be shorter than 28
digits but, again, I have modeled it on the number of button presses

They say Rahul should change his style and manner!!!
His present style has been in Congress's UP campaign the spanner!!!

In UP not the Corporate style but Mulayam , Amar and Bhenji style works,
Corporate style just elicits quirks!!!

Rahul should stop thinking UP to be his route to the throne!!!!
And if he wants to take this route then he should not do it alone!!

He needs to rope in Priyanaka and make it into a brother sister act!!
To elicit votes his sis has the tact!!!

When Congress started 50 seats seemed possible,
But as the campaign progressed this target looked impossible!!

Breaking away form the security and going to the public looks good!!
But that's not enough to change the Public's mood!!!

And the clincher in UP is the religion and caste arithmetic!!!
Congress's arithmetic was pathetic!!

All the Muslim wooing but still Muslims could not be wooed!!
At the same time other religions at Congress via votes booed!!

There's a reason why Muslims are called a minority!!!
So fixated was Congress with Muslims that it simply forgot the majority!!!

But what should worry Congress's First family is the simmering dissent,
In Congress's First Family's hold on the Party there has been a dent!!!!

Success gets many chamchas and chamchas are like rats…first to run away,
Chamchas ki advice ko attention one must never pay!!!

Sonia, Rahul and Priyanaka all have their individual spoon collections,
And these spoons gave the wrong advice prior to the UP elections!!!

Hopefully two years still to go……on this they've all got their fingers crossed,
They've got to act or out of power two years hence or even before they'll be tossed!!!

After hitting the Aam Aadmi hard Congress changed Aam Aadmi's explanation,
Rural poor were given this designation!!!

Inflation should be kept down and progress should rise!!!!
Though keeping inflation down as progress goes up is difficult say the wise!!

Politically they know best,
Though in recent times they've not being doing too well in the political test!!!

And Pawar is going to be the one who will ditch Congress.... first to stab,
He'll stab with one hand and with other hand new lobby ka haath karre ga grab!!

Vajpayee is working on the President's election,
If he has his way it'll be by consensus or common selection!!

This is for sure the next President will be a Neta…. non Netas barred!!!

A pen-drive is giving Amrinder sleepless nights!!!
Is now embarking on one of his most biggest political fights!!

At a time when the Indian Cricket has been facing rainy days ever since its debacle during the Cricket World Cup that concluded last month, there is good news for cricket fans. The Futures Group of which CEO is Kishore Biyani through PDM Sports has signed a pact with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to be the sole sponsor for the India versus South Africa series in Ireland. The Futures group will also support the India Pakistan benefit match in Scotland. Future Group will be paying $600,000 per match for the event to be known as "Future Cup". The India Pakistan match will take place to mark 60 years of Independence and will be organised by the British Asian Trust. The match is expected to raise over Rs 200 million for charities in the UK, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
