It is also expects to post a record profit of Rs.123 crore, about 225% more than 2005-06. Speaking at the conclusion of the annual GMs' Conference held recently, CMD of the Corporation, Shri Arup Roy Choudhury, informed that NBCC had not only made a total turnaround, it had contributed around Rs.60 crore to the National Exchequer and for the first time, would be paying dividend to the Govt.of India. Besides, it would also be in a position to redeem non-cumulative preference shares of Rs.30 crore during the current financial year. Shri Choudhury also added that due to sincere efforts of the workers, staff & officers of the Corporation, NBCC was maintaining clear lead as the largest public sector company in the Construction Industry and with a net worth of over Rs.150 crore, it would now venture into entrepreneurial mode of project development.
