Let us stick to age of retirement as 60
Presently the retirement age is 65 but hardly anybody retires. The officers are out to please the political bosses to get extension, re-employment or assignments in tribunals and commissions. This is sad and affects objective advice at the senior levels and politicians are having their say righr or wrong. Let us stick to age of retirement as 60 and nobody should be given extension and letyounger officers take over.
PMO is full of retired people and so are the tribunals and commissions. Let them seek appointments in the private sector a year after retirement and show their merit.
Ramesh Arora

Retirement age should be raised to 65
I do not agree with the views expressed by some of your contributors reg reduction in retirement age of govt employees. Rather,it will be in the fitness of things if the age limit is raised to 65 yrs. This will help govt to utilise the experience of the persons.Experience,if better utilised, is always fruitful.

This matter deserves a serious review

Good that left out states are being included in review for higher postings. However, the so called incentives for the officers posted in the northeast states remain a myth.Much had been said on this in the Civil Services Day(April21).
And yet,no officer seems to be empanelled for Additional Secretary post in 1973,1974 and 1975 batch of IAS from cadres like Manipur,Sikkim, and Tripura.
The matter deserves a serious review.

Haryana is worst
The case of IPS officers of Bihar is not as worse as that of Indian Forest Service officers of Haryana Cadre. Officers of 1972 batch are still working as Chief Conservator of Forest. An Officer of 1977 batch is working as Conservator of Forest where as his batch mates in most of the States have become Principal Chief Conservator of Forest. Officers of 1985 batch are working as Deputy Conservator of Forest i.e. without a single promotion for the last 22 years. I think the situation of IFS officers of Haryana is the worst in the country , with no releif in sight

TAIL-PIECE

A man walking along a California beach was deep in prayer.

Suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said, "Because you have TRIED to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish." The man said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over anytime I want."

The Lord said, "Your request is very materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust several natural resources.

I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that would honor and glorify me."

The man thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, "Lord, I wish that I could understand my wife. I want to know how she feels
inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what She means when she says nothing's wrong, and how I can make a woman truly Happy."

The Lord replied, "You want 2 lanes or 4 lanes on that bridge?"

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Kalam not being given a second term points to one thing,
Honesty karti hai Indian Political establishment ko sting!!!

A person whose not a politician and is equidistant from Political Parties would be best,
For the President's post any day better than the rest!!!

And now seems Commies are not pressing for Somnath Da for President's post,
Seems they've realized that Somnath Da is disliked by most!!!

Now Commies have made it into a UPA versus NDA fight,
With UP going to BSP and BJP the fight is going to be really tight!!!

What our Politicians forget is that a Country is rated by those who head it!
India is rated Excellent as Kalam and Manmohan in top Offices karr rahe hai sit!!!

Basu says that Commies UPA ko karr sakthe hai tumble,
Poor fellow cannot see the way Commies kar rahe hai bumble!!

Basu says CMP is not being adhered to but support is because of exigencies or constraints,
With UPA Commies have lot of complaints!

Seems the Government has woken up from its slumber,
Feeling was that Sarkaar was getting dumb and dumber!!!

A few industrial Houses are slowly gaining total control,
Monopoly is their goal!!!

Manmohan has decried crony capitalism….. term explains it all,
But I must compliment Manmohan for his gall!!

And seems our Sarkaar is learning on the job,
After announcing SEZs later realized that how via SEZs land hotha hai rob!!

See the ECBs…….. chalo at least they did awaken,
No actually in the ECB matter from its sleep Sarkar was rudely shaken!!

Industry had found a way to get around Sectoral Cap,
Because cheaper foreign funds they wanted to tap!!!

India might as well send some Officials to Thailand,
And find out how a strengthening Baht ne baja diya tha Thailand ka band!!!

And what about the wrong kind of FDI.... Fidayeen Direct Investment???
We all know for what these investments are meant!!!

Proceeds will go to fund terror!!!
How will Sarkar correct this wrong FDI error???

BJP should not shoot itself in the foot again,
This Leadership issue has been in recent times BJPs bane!!

Cross the Leadership bridge as and when it comes……why talk about it now???
Or was it to some pressure that Rajnath karr raha tha bow???
As of now Rajnath is doing a damn good job,
So this Leadership ka grenade kyon kiya lob!!!

Sonia does not want Rahul to parachute into PM's Office so why not start his rise???
Wouldn't giving him a Cabinet berth be wise???

Or has the family decided to enjoy indirect power???
Remote controlling the Congress Sarkar's boat with a nominee being the rower!!

In UP BSP seems to be increasing its lead,
And SP continues to bleed!!!

And in sixth phase Beni Prasad will make SP bleed even more,
No wonders SP calls Beni ' vote chor'!!!

Hope Mulayam has packed his bags….. May 11 is not far,
And hope he'll not mind to start travelling in a car!!!

Like Amrinder he too used the aerial route to move about,
Now he'll have to pay for this once from the Office of CM he's out!!

Amrinder is expected to return to Punjab tomorrow,
Wanted to come back in style but Chopper or Plane he could not borrow!!!

Now he'll buy a ticket and fly down to Chandigarh and then drive down to Patiala,
On the Patiala Border he'll be received by some loyalists with flowers ki maala!!

After some time he'll run back to Dilli or go to Dochi,
His loyalists say 'Maharaj is in sochi' (Punjabi for contemplation)!!!

BCCI has put the team on a diet……gluttony is banned,
Meal tables will be by BCCI appointed Meal Guards manned!!!

Players lament that its not longer fun being in the Indian Team,
BCCI has just left skimmed milk and taken away all the cream!!

Fitness is one area where the Indian team is totally lacking,
No wonders fitter teams like Aussies and SA give us a whacking!!

Now for the Indian Team its 'Dal roti khao aur BCCI ke gunn gaao',
And on return gifts of Whisky and Wines BCCI Officials ke liye laao!!
