Master stroke of Vasundhara Raje Government
After spending 4 days under the hospitality of the Rajasthan Government, Taslima Nasreen was finally taken under the control of the Union Government at 1245 AM today. Intelligence Bureau officials shifted her to an undisclosed location in a decoy car in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Declaring her as a state guest and keeping her safe and comfortable for four days in the Rajasthan House at New Delhi, is being considered by many a master stroke by the Vasundhara Raje's BJP government. It is believed that while the idea and planning was a brainchild of the Chief Minister herself, she chose three of her msot competent officers, coincidentally belonging to the three All India Services, to escort Ms. Nasreen to Delhi from Jaipur and handle the security and media at Delhi. They were Rohit Kumar Singh, IAS, Secretary, Information & Public Relations, Pankaj Singh, IG Jaipur Range and Arijit Banerjee, IFS and Deputy Secretary in the Chief Minister's Office. Despite suffering from a severe backache that has kept her on the bed for the last week or so, Smt. Vasundhara Raje was personally monitoring the situation on a regular basis, it is learnt.

UP IPS officers

Info is that 'pardon' was given Maya against apology letters confessing to political pressure as the reason for irregular appointments. Is submitting to pressure in discharge of official duties acceptable or will that by itself invite disciplinary action !!!!

K K G Pillai

I invite to go through the offer list for JS

I invite all service officers to go though Offer List for Joint Secretary posts on persmin.nic.in, ie Department of Personnel and Training's website. Out of 216 officers empanelled, 106 ie 50 per cent are IAS and all other services combined constitute the balance. More shocking is the appointment ratio, out of 106 IAS empanelled, 47 are already appointed, whereas out of 108 all other services only 19 are appointed. Out of these 19 ,as many as 7 are CSS officers. In fact, if one can obtain details of these 19 appointments , it would be known as to what posts other service officers have been picked up for vis-a-vis IAS. Is there any hope for other services for fair play? Or they have to remain reconciled to the fact that IAS will keep subverting the entire government machinery to suit themselves. You after joining GOI through Combined Civil Services Exam may be very bright, you may have done an excellent job in your Department but unless you have magical words IAS glued to your name, you cannot aspire to rise beyond a level.

India should honour Taslima

It is a shame that GOI is dithering in providing full security to a guest and allowing Taslima to live peacefully. Few people know what is her fault. Her novel describes vividly the treatment to minorities, non-muslims in Bangladesh; kidnapping and rapes of Hindu women by Muslims and disgracing their places of worship. She is being hounded for criticising such conduct and ill-treatment of women in general. India should honour her and offer her citizenship in this democratic and secular country. The leaders of UPA do not speak for her lest they annoy the minority vote bank.

Senior Citizen

No IFS officer is fit to be Ambassador
There are no other serving IFS officers fit to be Ambassador to the US .The government has to give the post to only retired guys. When are they gonna retire?? Never..?? All because of closeness to politicians. They are shameless!
