Wither Green Revolution II ?
Our cricket savvy Union Agriculture Minister is running from one city to another to watch the current Indo Pak Series. But he does not have the time to review the working of agricultural research scientists of the country. Second Green Revolution was launched with lot of fun fare by the UPA Government. But unlike the first Green Revolution of the late sixties and seventies, the Second Green Revolution is a non-starter. What has gone wrong, the watchers of the agricultural scene of the country are wondering. Perhaps the country has no more people like Subramaniam, Sivaraman and Swaminathan at the helm of affairs of the Second Green Revolution. Perhaps, the present Prime Minister is not taking as much interest as Mrs. Indira Gandhi used to
take. Or perhaps, the extension agencies of the Government are not working. It is time that the Second Green Revolution is taken seriously by the country or we will have food shortages, wonder the agro-rural watchers of the country.

Why LIC is battleground for political fights ?

"Why LIC is battleground for political fights ? If Left is opposing N-deal , why should LIC staff also oppose it ? LIC is to serve customers or serve political objectives thru Unions ? What is the use of Left if it cannot influence Government over early Pay-revision and payment of arrears to us other pending medical schemes , Employee-welfare issues etc ??? That is , Comrades should not misuse our Union money in fighting
political battles but instead use their energy , money and time for welfare of employees rather than over N-deal , other communist issues

Coal industry and Ministry of Environment

The coal industry has not yet come out of private owners' working culture mentality. It doesn't have regards to law of the land. Jungle Raj prevails for the management of the man power. Policies are being framed or interpreted to benefit selected courtiers or class. For example-
There is no concern for Environment Laws. The casual attitude is evident with the fact that there is no cadre for this vital Department. People working for this purpose are just dumped and forgotten. Against the general policy of promotion in 3 -5years,people are stagnant at one level for 10-12 years. Where as, their contemporary colleagues got two promotions in intervals of 5-7 years.
This is because, Pollution abatement is not a production friendly activity. Any expenses on it is shear wastage of resources. Promotion is not right of an employee. A scientist or an engineer in Environment Department is a liability. He should keep shut-up. More so because - The Environment Ministry has closed its eyes towards the eye-wash activities of Coal mining Industry(may read it Coal India Ltd.).And to catalyse the callousness, PMO has set-up a monitoring committee to see that coal mines are granted all environ clearances immediately. To hell with their responsibility towards execution of environment protection activities through a well motivated team. Coal production should go on and on.

Thanks to IAS secretary Revenue

The comment on CBEC etc is funny and one sided. Ask any C.A., IRS has become a den of-----. Thanks to the IAS secretary at least some of the honest officers get good postings. Departmental officers always indulge in groupism which they pick up over 30 years.

CBEC/CBDT are the arms of the government. The policy is decided by the government. the Boards are to efficiently implement it. IAS officers can ensure transparency and honesty.
By the way it is not at all difficult for any body to 'know' the IT Act etc.- after all they have been formulated by government including minister and secretary.
One only hopes IRS officers are atleast 50% honest !

Government of the IAS, by the IAS, for the IAS

I understand the plight of IRS officers having to work under IAS officers who know very little of Tax Policy and Tax Administration. To add insult to injury, the Secretary is actually junior to the Chairmen CBDT and CBEC. We follow the system 'jiski lathi uski bhais' or to put it another way, the batsman, bowler and umpire are all the same, the IAS. The loser is the people who suffer under sub-standard policies. Unfortunately the Government is a bystander to the IAS excesses. It is well known all over the world, both developed and developing that the Tax Administration is separate from the Ministries. However, the IAS would not like to give up their control over the Revenue Boards. Good luck for those who are trying to correct the matter. Sadly, the IRS and other services do not rise up to occasion and challenge the IAS and unite. They rather get satisfied by getting the crumbs of one Secretary level post. Is the PM listening ?

It is unhealthy

Isn't that unfair to officers senior to K S Bains of 1972-76 batches? Moreover, the Administration will become top heavy as officers senior to him will have to be given the same pay and status by creating ex-cadre posts which is against the rules of the cadre controlling authority. More importantly, such a step will generate heart burning amongst the passed over officers and will lead to non cooperation by them. This will be demoralising for the force in general. All in all, it is an unhealthy and undesirable practice.

S P Singal

Go to the Supreme Court

Instead of complaining repeatedly about the patently unequal treatment meted out to the Central Services, why is it that no central service officers' association, including the I-T (which is perhaps the largest central service) has taken GOI to the Supreme Court? The only way out to check this rot is the Supreme Court and getting together in a common umbrella association to fight it out!

It's a shame

Stripping of an Adiwasi women and chasing her on the streets of Dispur Guwahati marks a new low in the history of crimes against women in India. Like in corruption index we are bound to be given a place of honour (shame) in barbarity index. Those who think that our country is progressing because of high sensex must ponder what is the use of this progress and development if life of deprivation and indignity is all that what majority of people can get. Dispur is not some place inhabited by barbarians only but is capital of a state known for rich culture which has given the country its Prime Minister.

It is really unfortunate. Kiran Bedi is a brave lady and brand ambassdor for the girl children. She should fight because fighter always wins.

Her Humaneness knew that Nandigram would soon move out of public domain!!
After all for how long in public domain would it remain!!!

CPI ( Merciless) continues to bray that Nandigram is a State subject!!!
And because of numerical compulsions Centre nahi karr rahi hai object!!!

Seems Her Humaneness and Mr. Clean Chit do not look into the darpan (mirror)!!!
That's after they did to CPI (Merciless) on Nandigram total samarpan (surrender)!!!

This issue will raise its head during the next general elections!!!
Public will have this in mind when they make their selections!!!

Congress ka haath siraf or only apne saath!!!
When it comes to self preservation Congress kissi ko bhi maar sakthi hai laath!!!

In HP Congress is going to expose the young brigade!!
You can say Congress is ending in its Fire Brigade!!

In HP the fire of anti incumbency has spread far and wide!!!
Local leaders karr rahe hai hide!!!

So Rahul is leading the young brigade to quell the fires!!!
Fact is in HP this time public will light many Congress candidates electoral pyres!!

Congress expects that in HP compared to Gujarat its rout will be to a lesser extent!!
And that's why to HP Rahul is being sent!!!

After all during elections the 'heir apparent' cannot be seen sitting on the sideline!!!!
Sitting in the sideline would indeed be a wrong sign!!!

Even if Rahul goes to Gujarat it'll be more like a peek-a-boo!!!
Quietly he'll come and quietly he'll go too!!

Congress could send him to two or three constituencies where Congress is sure to win!!!
After loosing in Gujarat Congressis will use this to give an excuse for being done in!!!

They'll say that had Rahul campaigned in entire Gujarat Congress ki hothi victory!!!
And lament that because he did not it's a different story!!!

Strangely translation of Argentinean Court 's order in Q's case is still pending!!!
CBI is still deciding as to where for translation the documents it'll be sending!!

And as you know such decisions are very sensitive and cannot be hurried!!
After all translation hurried could mean translation curried (spiced) !!!!

All that they have to do is request the Argentinean Court for a translation of its Order!!
Translation of the Order from Spanish to English the Court itself would order!!!

Spanish to Hindi will be done in Delhi …. seems CBI wants this to be done first!!!!
After all Rashtriya Bhaasha always comes first!!!

Translation to English will be done from the Hindi translation!!!
And for this in London a Translation Team in London CBI will station!!!

In the end the translation exercise would have cost the CBI dear!!!!
Would be equivalent to the Bofors ghoos amount I fear!!!

CBI proves the adage 'where there is will there is a way'!!!
Only requirement is the bills you should be able and willing to pay!!

And when it comes to funds CBI has not dearth!!!
And CBI has no accountability to explain expenditure's worth!!!

But why blame CBI when we all know CBI's just a pawn in the game??
And poor ole CBI ultimately gets all the blame and shame!!!

On Kartik people tend to exorcise bhoots in Bihar !!!
This time this was lacking as biggest bhoot has already been sent Bihar se baahar!!

For fifteen years this bhoot troubled the people Bihar !!!
Till via their votes Biharis ne bhoot ko maari maar!!!

Taslima has hurt the sentiments of Muslims so she needs to be deported!!!
With her paraphernalia to Sweden she should be exported!

Artistes and Authors cannot use their works to decry or defile any belief!!!
And India should not provide such people with any relief!!!

Teach the Hussiens and Taslimas a lesson!!
So that this penchant to insult or decry religion ho ha jaye lessen!!

Buy her a ticket or even charter a plane and send her packing!!!
Why to do this dumm this Sarkaar is lacking????

As per documentary Big B incited mobs in the 1984 riots chanting khoon for khoon *!!!
So Big B the Indian Icon had a hand in insaaniyat ka khoon!!!

Confucius says….. No amount of Mandir hopping will wash the blood off his haath!!!
Hummare karams ke saath hai humaara janam janam ka saarth!!!!
