IMAGINARY-EMERGENCY MEETING OF UPA ALLIES

By the wonder of imagination I can give you an insight or blow by blow account of what transpired in the Emergency meeting of UPA Allies.

Pawar: What's the emergency …….hope Sonia Ji is not trying to emulate her mother in law???? After all nowadays there is a lot of talk about Sonia Ji emulating her mother in law!!!
Laloo: No no if any such thing were to happen Sonia Ji would have taken my into confidence!!
Paswan: Hawaa badalne mein derr nahi laghti!!!
Laloo: Paswan I've gulped down my breakfast in the car and my stomach is like a gas cylinder….. (threateningly) hawaa badli karoo????

Sonia and Manmohan walk in.

Sonia: Manmohan ji would like to talk to you.
Pawar: He could have just picked up the phone …… why waste our time…… as it is with these rumors of midterm poll time is in very short supply….. I've got so much to do!!!
Manmohan: Actually friends I wanted to look you in the eye and say what I have to say!!!!
Laloo: Manmohan Ji from a Doctor in Economics have you become a aankh (eyes) ka Doctor???
Paswan: Arre Laloo Ji aankh jooth na bolle!!!!
Laloo: Hold on….. my Doctor says I have a eye infection so I've got to wear goggles …… if I don't you all risk getting the same eye infection!!!!
Sonia (aside to Manmohan): Don't they all suffer form the same eye infection already…. they can't look their electorates in the eye!!! Manmohan Ji please say what you have to say ….. you know we've got to meet the Communists at 4 pm….. I'll barely be able to squeeze in my luncheon appointment with Priyanka and her kids!!!
Manmohan: Friends I've called this meeting to express my regret that UPA has not stood up beside me in the face of Commie aggression on the Nuclear Deal. As you all know the decision for the Nuclear Deal was made at a Cabinet Meeting and all of you had given your okay to the Deal. I'm firm on the Deal and in case you want it to be stalled I'm willing to resign!!! The Deal is good for India and this should be the only consideration in deciding one's stand.

There's commotion. All are talking aloud to each other.

Pawar: Arre Manmohan Ji in the dehaat they do not know or care about the Nuclear Deal!!!
Laloo: Yes …. yes……. if we don't stall the deal Commies will withdraw support and there will be midterm polls……. arre I had left so much work for the last year!!!!
Pawar: Yes last year in power is most productive like last few sips of tea are the sweetest!!!
Manmohan: After agreeing to the Nuclear Deal why are you all damning it now….. see Karunanidhi ….. now he's done a turnaround!!!
Balu: Please it was Maran who was present at that time in the Cabinet Meeting ….. we are not responsible for his actions!!! We have disowned all actions of Maran.
Manmohan: Now Karunanidhi has done a flip on the Ram matter and said that Ram is to be revered…….. even on the Deal he's done a flip!!!!
Balu: Our Leader is the best!!!
Sonia ( aside to Manmohan): He reminds of an ad in which a kid says ' My Papa is the best'!!!
Manmohan: Balu ji haven't you heard someone's food is someone one else's poison????
Laloo: That's why I keep telling you not to serve only Punjabi food at these meetings….. every time I go back from these meetings I feel like a gas cylinder ……. in fact Rabdi was asking me to take a 'cooling off period' in the lawn of the house before entering the house!!!
Paswan: You mean to say 'gassing off period'!!!
Laloo: Paswanoo tehri aisi kamm taisi…..
Balu: I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that at the Cabinet Meetings where Maran was present DMK is not responsible for his ayes and nays!!!
Pawar: I'm against midterm polls….. midterm polls are not good for the Country…. So there!!!
Laloo: Pawar ji is very right!!!
Manmohan: I'm not willing to be a lame duck PM …… hard decisions have to be made and we need to take hard decisions. Now the time is come to stand up for your Country and be counted!!!

Laloo shifts to one side and lets out a sigh of relief. In a few seconds everyone is running to the door. Sonia and Manmohan run in one direction whereas the Allies run in another direction!!!

Paswan: Maar diya Laloo ji...... stink bomb!!!
Pawar: Reminds me of something I smelt in Mumbai!!!
Laloo: Arre Pawar Ji you must have smelt the Australian wheat???? Arre you guys should thank me for ending this meeting or Manmohan Ji would have gone on and on …… arre in my career I've ended so many meeting like this…… aankh mein aankh daal ke bolthen hai Manmohan Ji……maine unki aankh mein aank daal ke chodh (left) diya….. dekho kaise bhaage…… hoo hoo hoo ( laughs his peculiar laugh). Arre Pawar Ji sunna hai wheat import mein bahut gaplaa hoaa hai..... baut maal banaya hai kissi ne???
Pawar: Arre I've brought down the price of wheat …… don't you know that now Australian wheat is being sold for Rs. 5/kg. I always work for the Public ... I'm always there in thier sewa!!!
Laloo: But that is rotting wheat???
Pawar: Kaan aise pakdo yah waise …. result is the same!!
Laloo ( to himself): Result is shame…….. arre dakoo bhi duss ghar chodh ke dakaa dalta hai!!!

They sit in their respective cars , sirens start sounding and they go their ways.

If Prime Minister Manmohan Singh takes care of the recommendation of Former President Abdul Kalam post of Ambassador UNESCO in Paris must go in January to 1978 batch Maniur-Tripura cadre IAS officer A K Mangotra. Mangotra has been Joint Secretary in the Rashtrapati Bhawan for several years.

Khurana's step shows path to other bureaucrats
The decision to resign from service by Additional Secretary Power in the Government of India Ashok Kumar Khurana has shown path to other bureaucrats. Khurana who is an IAS officer of the 1976 batch from Uttar Pradesh cadre has quit because he would not fulfill the new condition of at least one & a half years of service period for being posted as a Secretary at the Centre. Other officers who too do not fulfill this condition are now toying with the idea of putting in their papers.

I want to ask a very simple question: There is a well qualified youth of 25 years old in your family and there is a father also of about 60 years old in the family. Would you like that father should retire for his son or the son should get opportunity to utilise his young and meaningful life for the country? Please think before your recommendation.
