-reality Pay Commission is said to have already formulated a "whopping"
increase of Rs.1,200 to 2,000 in the gross salary (Not to talk of ever increasing
EXPENDITURE TAX rechristened as Service Tax over and above on already taxed income),
so the poll appears to be redundant. As per the scheme (as the rumor mill goes...),
only the Basic shall appear to have doubled/ tripled (thanks to the jugglery of
mergers....), CIT onward there shall be fixed salary with no more annual increments,
JCIT & Additional CIT scales have been merged into one, pension shall be stagnated
at Rs.20,000 i.e. maximum. Press shall be shouting from the top of the roof that
the salaries of Government employees are doubled/ tripled. Exchequer is burdened
by these many crores of 'their' tax money (without mentioning the real effect
i.e. inflation, comparative salaries in other sectors etc.). IRS shall again be
put at par, once again, with other lousy organs of the State, so far the salaries
are concerned. Specialized skills of the IRS shall again be ignored.... Neha wrote Welcome development in Kerala The announcement
of 5 Yrs private sector job for Kerala officers is a welcome development. I wonder
when would DoPT wake up to the usefulness of such a move in Central services. Aaj Ki Aawaz Laloo said that Balasahib is now of
advanced age and he should do pooja!!! Bharat Kumar --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
