Why not 100 days of assured employment ?
Retirement age is already 65 years for majority of those who are retiring from secretary level posts in the government. So many authorities and commissions appear to have been created to provide employment so that carrot of post retirement employment can ensure compliant behaviour upto the last day of service. To remove heartburn among those who are left out and want increase in retirement age, why not provide 100 days of assured employment in a year to everyone whosoever wants a job after retirement on the pattern of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. This step can improve implementation of NREG act itself and many of the faults and shortcomings pointed out by CAG will get automatically taken care of because of induction of such an experienced pool of expertise and talent .This arrangement can continue beyond 65 years of age .

It is fast disappearing

A plethora of insinuations, explicit and implicit, have been hurled at each other on account of real or perceived grouse. It appears that the pride in performing the basic function(s)that one is expected to carry out professionally, at whatever level in the administrative hierarchy, is fast disappearing. Also, everyone appears to be forever aspiring (conspiring!)to attain higher and higher level in the convoluted bureaucracy while faithfully abdicating the responsibility for completion of simpler and so called lower level tasks. Consequently, with everyone trying to pass on the unsavoury tasks to the level below, there is palpable desperation, dejection and helplessness at all levels! Palliatives in the nature of restoring some semblance of (notional)parity or even a monetary raise prove to be illusory. The true test of the fructification of our administrative reforms and economic liberalization will consist in the liberalization of the rigid mind set which still carries vestiges of feudal values in abundance. There is a fierce clash between these anachronistic values and the imperatives of efficiency and economic development. As to human motivation to perform higher order tasks, a story that comes to mind in the given context may be worth sharing in this forum. It is said that the then President of the USA during the course of an interview he gave sometime in the late 1950s suddenly announced that the US shall be sending the first man to the Moon. The entire world was taken aback by the abrupt disclosure. To study the motivational level of people associated with the project, a management team decided to interview the employees at NASA. The first person they accosted inside the premises was a sweeper. The sweeper on being asked about his job profile is believed to have remarked, "I am involved in sending the first man to the Moon."

Telecom promotions

The regular DPC of 1991 Batch of Indian P&T, Accounts and Finance Service for SAG promotion may take some time due to change in ACR policy, being formulated by DOPT. But SEA Section of DOT is trying to give Adhoc SAG (which was not given to earlier batches) to 91 batch before Feb 6,2008 as Member(finance) is getting VRS on this date. The Telecom commission has been promoting officers of P&T finance officers to SAG without being empowered for it. The power to promote was only for ITS officers as specific exemption was granted to promote only ITS officers without approval of ACC but both P&T Finance and BW& E S cadres have been getting it done since the Members are signing the files on their retirement with impunity.

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Amar says Raj is a devil… the pot calling the kettle black!!!
He forgets when his goons ne kiya Public and Public property ko in the past attack!!!

He's used goondas to settle political scores or hissab-kitaab!!!!
The word propriety is missing in Amar's kitaab!!!

SP used goons like Atiq Ahmed to settle many a political score!!!!
Have you seen this goon's criminal score??????

Big B is just trying to get public sympathy by fibbing an attack by 'Raj's army'!!!
Amar says Raj's army has gone barmy!!!

Hope you recall SP workers wearing 'qawali caps' violently protesting!!!!
Big B's IT woes this was their way of contesting!!

Why doesn't Big B stop this political surrogacy and enter the political ring??
Why use Amar to deliver his political sting ???

To questions he tactfully says ' no comments' or ' I've nothing to say'!!!!
Then he looks Amar's way!!!

And this is Amar's cue and he starts his rant!!!!!
Literally keeps on till he starts to pant!!!

Like his Uncle to get Maharashtrian votes Raj is using this anti Bhaiya ploy!!
With people's lives and livelihood karr raha hai toy!!

Rather than this he , Amar and Laloo should settle it WWF style 'free for all'!!!!
And loosers revenge fight karr saktha hai call!!!

And they can keep fighting and entertaining us!!!!
Na woh na karre buss (stop) aur na humm kahenge buss!!!!

Doesn't Congress realize the impossibility in its politically motivated amendment???
To save EC Naveen Chawla this amendment is meant!!!

Can Congress get two third support in Parliament???
Or just to delay the inevitable this amendment is meant???

Allies are mum!!!!
Seems on this Congress's tune they hum!!!

There are reports that Commies will take on Congress in this matter!!!
Bite or bark……. of course it will be the latter!!

And Sonia will just put cotton in her ears and let the Commies do bow bow!!!
At most Commies will be invited for a powwow!!!

Congress has amended Constitution in the past to get its Leader out of a fix!!!
This time Congress's attempt all should get together and nix!!

What about those whose shops were razed in Dilli????
Others have got relief and not looking at those whose shops were razed is silly!!!

Reddy and Sheila will skirt this sawaal!!!!
And Public needs to realize this is just an electoral chaal!!

Why did Reddy not think of this when shops were being razed left and right!!!
At that time for the Shop Owners why did Congress not put up a fight???

Court has still to react and in all probability Court will take Sarkaar to task!!
A number of embarrassing question to Sarkaar Court will ask!!

Modi's clarified that he's not a PM candidate,
Clearly to NRIs kiya Modi ne yeh state!!!

Though pro Congress Media is still trying to create a fire!!!
To create fires like Congress this section of the Media does not tire!!!

Congress not declaring its PM candidate shows Manmohan in poor light!!!!
And majboori of Manmohan is that for his izzat he can't even fight!!

He can't even show his displeasure!!!
First PM who is PM on someone's pleasure!!!

Rahul is in Japan enjoying Sushi!!!
First he went paragliding and now he gone to Japan… life's real cushy!!!

He should ensure that he does not make announcements on the advice of this think tank!!
By now he should have realized that on their advice he should not bank!!!

Now it's said that in Amethi Rahul is organizing a cricket tournament!!!
To distract people's minds form their problems this tournament is meant!!!

This is Rahul's APL,
Is he planning to take on Pawar's IPL???

Well as Congress is in power in Dilli there will be no dearth of sponsors and ads!!!!
And Rahuls' Amethi Team will be called Rahul's Lads!!!

For two months Amethwaasis will have just cricket on their minds!!!
Don't know from where such ideas Rahul finds????

Confucius says…. Rahul says let there be cricket and let people be in a playful state of mind!!!
Problems are not going to go so momentarily from their problems let them unwind!!!

I.M.G.Khan to launch PLI's 125th yr celebrations

To mark the launch of Quasquicentennial Celebrations of Postal Life Insurance (PLI), the release of special cover and cancellation will be held in a big way on February 5, 2008 at India International Centre, New Delhi.Secretary, Department of Posts, IMG Khan will release the special cover. In its 125th year, PLI has taken significant resolutions to celebrate the mile posts. These include management of corpus within the frame work of IRDA investment regulations; up gradation of the computer system and management of data base centrally in the national data centre; and professional training to its sales force and granting license to the sales force in the pattern of IRDA regulations. Introduced on Feb. 01, 1884 for providing Life Insurance coverage to the Postal Employees, the PLI is extended to all employees of the Central Government including defence and paramilitary personnel, employees of the state Governments, public sector undertakings, autonomous bodies, universities, municipalities, nationalized banks etc. Compared to other insurance companies, PLI charges low premium from its customers and pay much higher rates of bonus. Today, number of live policies in PLI exceeds 85 lakh (including the Rural PLI). The corpus size is more than Rs. 12,500 crore. Total Sum Assured for all policies (including Rural PLI) comes to more than Rs. 31,000 crore. The fund is healthy and the current rates of bonus are Whole Life Policies -Rs. 90 for every thousand Rupees of Sum Assured; Endowment Assurance Policies - Rs. 70 for every thousand Rupees of Sum Assured; and Anticipated Endowment Policies- Rs.65 for every thousand Rupees of Sum Assured. It was primarily because of high rate of bonus, PLI has succeeded in retaining its niche market, in spite of opening up of the insurance sector and , thereby, increasing competition. PLI fund is growing at an average annual rate of 20% and RPLI fund at an average rate of more than 40% in recent years. PLI concentrates on traditional Life Insurance products and primary focus is coverage of risk and ensuring a decent return to its customers. Besides Whole Life, Endowment and Anticipated Policies, PLI offers Yugal Suraksha policies for working couples and offers add on policies for children. Starting from acceptance of proposals to settlement of claims, the operations are computerized and strict norms are followed for every aspect of customer service.
